Since Notre Dame is the embarrassment of college football, it'd be nice if Ball State could lift my spirits by giving Nebraska a game at least. Not asking for a Michigan 2006 redux, but let's not humiliate ourselves out there.

I am cautiously optimistic about Michigan St against ND. We have had a real solid rushing attack so far this year and I am sure our defense is good enough to handle ND. I think this will be closer than I want it to be though.

 

 

I also think that North Carolina at South Florida is a top 25 mismatch

Oh and I agree that S. Fla v. UNC is a top 25 mismatch. UNC is awful.

The Florida game has caused me, for the first time ever, to seriously consider whether it's time to fire Phil Fulmer.

We last won the SEC in 98 - also our last National Championship. We were in the championship game in 01 and 04, but lost both times.

 

We've been a very good team all 14 years he's been here, but there are certain areas - like the offensive line - that are his specialty, but have been beyond subpar recently.

 

I'm not sure if this is a kneejerk reaction, or if I'm really buying into the fire Fulmer camp.

 

EDIT: We've won or shared the East 3 times since 98 too.

Didn't think that would last until my post. I hope they don't take Indiana for granted. They're not that bad of a team either. Like someone said in last week's college football thread, the winner of that game is probably going to be the surprise team of the Big 10. A win for Illinois puts them at 3-1 and starts the conference season on the right foot. Sounds good to me.

 

Another gimme for SIU as they take on Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Should be 4-0 headed into conference play.

 

As far as NIU goes, the countdown to Demetrius Jones' first snap in a Huskie uniform is on. I'll be very surprised if they beat Idaho on the road. Yes, Idaho.
