You have a 2-0 count Lee why swing at an offspeed pitch out of the zone? He shoulda been looking for fastball and nothing else. Terrible AB for Lee

Top 2nd:

Mark DeRosa flies out to CF

Jacque Jones singled to RF

Jason Kendall doubled to LF, Jones scored

Jason Marquis flied out to LF

Alfonso Soriano hit by pitch

Ryan Theriot walked, Kendall to third, Soriano to second

Derrek Lee flies out to RF

1 run, 2 hits, 0 errors, 3 LOB

THERE'S NO WAY LEE SHOULD HAVE SWUNG UNTIL 2 STRIKES

Cubs 1, Astros 0

Damn. Lee reached for a pitch that was outside.

Well, to be fair, it was an outside pitch that struck him out the first time.

Yeah, but you don't swing at that with a 2-0 count and the bases loaded.

But at 2-0, there's no reason to swing at that pitch. If it was 0-2, then I'd be more understanding.

I'm not going to say DLee was wrong to swing at that pitch, but at 2-0 with the bases chucked, I'm really surprised he did.

He was wrong to swing at it. All of the pressure was on Backe to throw a strike. He let him off the hook.

Hart - .295/.354/.529/.883 21 HR 69 RBI 22 SB 74 R, 121 G

Soriano - .294/.332/.526/.858 24 HR 53 RBI 18 SB 84 R, 117 G

When Hart does this more than 1 year I might think something about those. Also we all know this has been a huge power drop for Soriano, and Hart will never hit 40 hrs in a season, and Id wager money today Soriano is over 40 next year.

I too want to see Hart and all the other Brewers not named Fielder and Braun do this again.

Yeah. I took issues with some of it. The recruiting has been bad. But, we have finished higher than MSU the last two years and Louisville didn't make the tournament.
