Marquis is on his game tonight in getting the ground balls.

Despite the popular sentiment on him, I'm very pleased with what he has done this year.

Lol Ive been pleased with his 2nd half I was real worried he would fall off like he has routinely in his career. Hes been better than I espected.

I've been suitably pleased with his adjustments after slumping. He has gotten his sinker working again after it was horrid in June-July.

Are you disagreeing that the majority of people on here severly overreact when it comes to him?

All valid points, but I felt the hop had to go before Soto turned into a masher and before Trax was on the Cubs.

Oh, the hop definitely needs to go. I'm surprised the Cubs haven't stopped him from doing it. I don't even understand why he does it. It's just stupid.

According to Pat Hughes (I think that's who i heard say it), Soriano says that, being a natural infielder, he has always been taught to keep his feet moving while he catches the ball. That habit he learned in the infield has turned into that ridiculous hop, he says.

I still think it's dumb.

He needs to learn how to become an outfielder, it's not practical and it can really hinder him defensively.

Someone should let him know he's not an infielder now, and that he should learn how to play the outfield properly.

No I guess I read it wrong. I was thinking you mistyped and it should have read" Despite the unpopular sentiment on him". My bad

But no I dont think there was overreaction on him. Hes getting paid alot of money, and had 2 brutal months in a row, so people were upset with him which I feel was justified. Hes came back and had a good 2nd half, Im glad.

Well, your right. Popular opinion = a bad one.
