Wright was on the bag when he caught the ball, chill out.

but the umpire wasnt calling him out. Jones stays on the bag and the ump was calling him safe.

If you watch the replay, Jones should have been called out anyway. Wright's foot was on the bag when he caught the ball.

Maybe so, but the ump didn't call it and Quade was yelling at Jones to get back and he was ignoring him.

Still an incredibly boneheaded play.

the key is that he was not called out though

For those of you wondering, yes, the women in Sweden are incredibly hot.

That is all.

How can you tell watching a PC screen? Get your butt out to the nightlife.

Did that the past two nights. Stockholm is freaking awesome.

However, I have to get up and catch an early flight to Oslo tomorrow morning. No all night partying tonight. :(

come on guys - jones was dead to rights on the force, and the throw beat him. Jones knew he was out.

edit: it was a bad slide though

the ump wasnt calling him out. he waited till wright tagged him to call him out

If he doesn't slide through the base, then the umpire doesn't screw up the call.

Well, hell, then he should've just walked into the dugout and not bothered sliding. It doesn't matter what Jones "knows" because the umpire evidently didn't know it.

I'm just not that upset because the right call ended up being made. I take it when the umpire makes a incorrect call that helps the Cubs, but I'd rather the right call be made.

if he slides like that and holds on to the bag the ump blows the call and calls him safe. However Jones took that option away from the ump, and made it easy for him.

I understand. Play to the whistle though, ya know?

it was an easy play. simple throw to third to get him on the force. like I said, JOnes knew he was out. should players fake it everytime it's a close call just to fool an ump (who the vast majority of the tme, will get the call right)?
