Congrats to Sean.

Here's hoping Bruce was joking when he said it wasn't Eyre on the way out.

I saw him in the dugout earlier

In the dugout? I wonder why he wasn't in the pen.

Relief pitchers usually spend the first couple innings in the dugout. They go back and forth between the dugout and bullpen quite a bit during the first couple innings.

which is probably a good thing because they would be in danger out there with the rockets Lilly is giving up.

with the family heading straight to Atlanta, seems Sean will not be pitching in Milwaukee. that makes me think nothing will be announced for a couple of days.

Bruce made it sound like it'd be on cubs.com tonight and in the Daily Herald tomorrow morning.

its already broken in connecting the dots land. it's probably howry. if hes pitching out of the bullpen its a terrible idea. hes a starter, promote him to iowa (although the jump from aa to aaa is worthless for sps). if hes needed in relief, why not recall the rock? hes been down for well over 10 days and is a pure reliever with better command than sean.

He's had one bad outing in his last 10 appearances (0 IP, 5 ER). Outside of that outing, he's had 9 innings with 1 ER in 9 appearances and he's had 4 straight scoreless apperances (for 3.1 innings).

Bruce Miles says a DL move is coming. I predict Angel Guzman.

Bruce Miles seems to be hinting in the game thread that I'm right.

Ah ok I mustve just seen that one bad outing or something.

No doubt, I can easiliy see that contributing.

So he has to be going to the 60 day DL right because sending him to the 15 day wouldn't open up a spot on the 40 man roster.

Probably not, I'd guess there's a corresponding move to get Gallagher on the 40-man.

Now that the excitement of Gallagher being promoted is over....

This is a terrible decision. Why are we starting Gallagher's option/arbitration clock to put him in middle relief? Especially when we have someone like Cherry(like was already mentioned) available in Iowa?

It's the Cubs. They're idiots. They've shown over and over again they have no idea how to run an organization.

he went from pen to starter to pen. how on earth that in and of itself can cause an injury, I have no idea. now I could understand if he went from an occassional inning here or there to a heavy workload, but that's not what happened. apparently this injury cropped up after moving from the pen, so somehow less work has lead to this injury?

Cherry isn't exactly lighting it up in AAA. His stuff has dropped off a lot from what I saw of him in ST.

I could care less about Gallagher's arbi clock. We need guys who can throw strikes in our bullpen.

You really, really should. Middle relief for our floundering major league club is not worth jeopardizing the future and length of control of possibly our best pitching prospect.

yeah, because the ability of the fourth righty out of the pen to throw strikes is the only thing holding the cubs back right now.

MLB should freeze our roster, that way this group of idiots can't jeopordize any more arms. Edited by illiniguy
