are you saying this b/c you don't want the cubs to trade one or more of their players or because you don't want hendry to trade one or more of his players?

 

I don't want Gallagher to be traded... he seems to be a good kid, and it's nice having inside info on one of the better prospects in the organization.

they'd have to put him on the 40 man roster before trading him... but yeah it doesn't make sense to tell him that he's going to pitch in atlanta when he's being rostered just for the purpose of trading him

When was the last time Sean started?

Four days ago. His next scheduled start for Tennessee would have been tomorrow, which is also Zambrano's next scheduled start for the Cubs. Coincidence or not remains to be seen.

Maybe they just live closer to Atlanta? His start and Z's start being the same day is awfuly coincidental.

Moving Dopirak off of the 40-man seems the logical move to get him on the 40-man. Trying to figure out who he's replacing on the major league roster is the biggest hurdle.

me too... i forgot that it was lilly and not Z tonight. Him pitching in Zambrano's spot makes a lot of sense; makes one start and then goes back down.

 

Still, don't they have to do something with Zambrano? Can they put him on some sort of temporary suspension list to open up a spot for Gallagher, or would they have DL somebody?

I can't imagine them pulling anybody from the rotation, unless Zambrano has been traded or is injured. I could definitely see them putting him in the bullpen, even if he doesn't have experience there.

Not necessarily. It wouldn't be unprecedented for a trade to happen without any leaks in advance. It would have happened so fast that the story would be hard to get out there.

 

Although I do doubt that Z was traded.

i must say, as much as this season has sucked, at least the cubs are keeping it exciting pretty much everyday here lately. kind of excited about this. gallagher should be good.

Yea to me if this was just a Zambrano missing a start thing, or even somebody else missing a start, then Guz or Marmol would take that start you would think. I have to believe there is a trade or hopefully we are done with the Scott Eyre ERA.(no pun intended)
