Per WSCR, the Cubs have called up Triple AAA catcher Koyie Hill from Iowa and has sent Henry Blanco to the 15-day DL with "neck problems."

Does this move not make sense to anyone else, if they were going to bring up a catcher why not Soto. Hill is hitting .250 in the last 10 games, while Soto is hitting somewhere around .350

Maybe they are going on seniority. What are they doing about the 40-man roster, he's not on it right?

Confirmed by cubs.com. And Hill is hitting .304 for the season and hit .306 in May, so they probably put more stock in the consistency he's shown over the course of the season rather than just the last 10 days. I'd rather see Soto up there, but Hill may still be an improvement over Hank White.

I don't understand this move. Is it a matter of making sure Soto keeps getting daily reps instead of playing once a week?

Side note: with Hill on the hill they will have an all-Hill battery. And if Glenallen and Bobby were still on the team ...

I wonder who gets derostered....
I think Miller is the logical choice. I'd like to see it happen to Eyre, but I don't think Hendry will give up on him.

You're probably right. Miller makes the most sense.

Hill over Soto? This organization has officially lost its marbles.

I just realized, Hendry looks mentally handicapped in your avatar...lol

He does have a little touch of the downs doesn't he? That would explain alot anyway. This baseball team plays like its run by a liquored up mongloid.

Cub's logic

Hill is older and therefore is automatically a better player vs. Soto

i think there is a banner hanging up in hendry's office saying, "everyday is opposite day!"

While bringing up Hill over Soto is a braindead move, all will be forgiven if this is the end of Miller or Eyre on the Cubs.

Wild theory...maybe a trade for Barrett is lined up, and his roster spot will free up a spot for Hill, and then Soto can come up as well?

lol...or not.

Assuming that the guy who gets brought up will never play (Cub standard practice), it's OK that it's Hill instead of Soto.

The bad news is that this means even more of MLB's dumbest player.

What does this have to do with Moises?

I was thinking Carl Everett.
