I still don't understand this move

 

It's the Cubs. If you just expect them to do the exact opposite of what you want them to do, you'll be alright.

Apparently Prior. Cubs.com now shows him on the 60-day DL.

Derr, we all should've seen that coming

Wasn't the whole issue with moving Prior to the 60-day DL that he'd accrue MLB time if that happened?

 

I can't remember all the permutations of Prior and MLB service time and the DL.

That's largely what I thought. He was on the minor league DL, and I'm not sure if there's a 60-day DL there. It may be long enough into this season now that it wouldn't count as a season of service time anyway, so perhaps the Cubs officially called Prior up from the minors and then placed him on the major league 60-day DL.
