Assuming that the guy who gets brought up will never play (Cub standard practice), it's OK that it's Hill instead of Soto.

The bad news is that this means even more of MLB's dumbest player.

What does this have to do with Moises?

I was thinking Carl Everett.

Originally I went with Lenny Dykstra, but decided to drop retired people from consideration... and I think Crazy Carl is retired now, isn't he?

Wild theory...maybe a trade for Barrett is lined up, and his roster spot will free up a spot for Hill, and then Soto can come up as well?

lol...or not.

I had similar speculation the other day when Barrett wasn't in the lineup. I made the crazy speculation that he was being traded to the Cardinals since Molina is out for some time.

Last I heard, they were working on Jason LaRue.

I wonder who gets derostered....
I think Miller is the logical choice. I'd like to see it happen to Eyre, but I don't think Hendry will give up on him.

You're probably right. Miller makes the most sense.

He does.

But this is the Cubs ....

I read on Rotoworld recently that Miller would get optioned to AAA or released soon. Maybe this is it.

Another possibility would be to transfer Miller to the 60-day DL, as they did with Wood earlier when they needed to make room on the 40-man for Fontenot.

hill can hit left handed so that is most likely the reason he was called up instead of soto.

In Hendry's world, hitting LH is a tool equal to hitting for power and way more important than OBP

I'm a fan of this move Hill will not see much playing time at all. Soto needs to be playing everday. If the Cubs called up Soto so he can 10 ABS in two weeks it would be a waste and this thread would be thirty pages long by the end of two weeks if Barrett was struggling.[/i]

I see what you are saying, but it's not like Soto is some raw young prospect who needs the playing time. He's 24 with well over 1500 pro plate appearances. He's either going to make it or he's not. Sitting on the major league bench for 2 weeks won't kill him.

Do people here really think Soto is a legit prospect? He's not.

I think he can legitimately be a good defensive major league catcher who brings something to the table offensively. He'll never be a star. And he's probably not going to be a 6-8 year starter either. But I think that a team with a solid 1-7 lineup and good pitching could benefit from paying a guy like him minimum wage while spending the big bucks on other difference makers.

While the Braves are in town, Hendry should be chatting up Schuerholz to determine who he'd have to add to Matt Murton before he's got enough on the table to get Salty.

Murton would be a nice fit on a team with as big a hole in LF as the Braves have.

If hes chatting up Schuerholz I hope hes asking him how to run a major league baseball team.

Right now I'd propose Z for Salty.

Soto is playing better, is younger and on the 40-man. So Hill gets called up?
