Wow, I just got wind of Chris Houston's combine performance. That'll solidify him as a first rounder. 4.32 in the 40 with 27 reps at 225...as a corner?

40 reps? are you sure? that's more than most linemen....

So we already knew you can't do math. Now you say reading is hard. Is there anything you can do? :D

Someone's gotta go plant some drugs on Landry or something so he can fall to the Bears' pick. O:)

He still wouldn't get past the Bengals.

Very nice. =D>

Reading errors aside, 27 is more than most linemen. Apparently he tied several and was beaten only by four defensive linemen.

By my count there were 15 DL that either tied or beat Houston in reps, but 27 by a DB is quite good though. The only knock on him IMO is that he came in shorter than advertised at only 5' 9 7/8". His vertical at 36" is good but not great, I think it'll be interesting to see how he matches up against bigger receivers at the next level.

Calvin Johnson seems to be the talk of the combine. I've always liked this kid and he seems to be one of the hardest WR's to cover out there along with a lot of other good qualities. Does anyone know if he publicly critisized that horrible QB of his at GTech? If he didn't, I'd take this kid #1 because I just don't see a flaw.

No criticism that I know of at GT.

The only worry I have (and this COULD fall on the QB at Tech) is that he disappeared at times during big games when he wasn't thrown to early. I have no idea if he was shut down, or if he was pulling a Randy Moss and taking plays off.

It wouldn't matter to me. Reggie Ball is freakin terrible. I even think the Pope criticzed his play.

Chris Houston is the best CB in the entire draft. Hall gets all the publicity because he played at Michigan, but Houston is gonna be a better NFL CB.

I think this is gonna be a great draft for the Bears. A lot of value picks. I honestly feel they could pick the BPA at 31 and get a great player. I also think the 2nd and 3rd rounders could be great players.

as others have born witness, it was reggie ball who disappeared, not johnson.

I hadnt see Houston play so i can't comment on his skills compared to Hall's. Hall being the first CB selected is a good indicator that this CB class doesn possess the lock down corner. If he is selected first i think thats more of an indicator than the publicity he garnered from playing for Michigan or how good of a CB he truly is. #1 by default, any other year he is not the first CB taken, however he would still be 1st rounder. He really hadnt got much publicity in his four years, Marlin Jackson got much more publicity than Hall ever had and in the end didnt possess the coverage/ball skills nor the timed speed Hall just put up. Hall>Marlin but by the publicity it would be reversed dramtically.

When he was playing against WVU I was hoping that the Mountineers would put 5 guys on Johnson.

I definitely appreciate Marlin's cover skills a lot more after this postseason-in fact, I think Marlin will be burned into every Colts fan's memory for a long, long time :D -I've actually heard many Colts fans say that it was more fun winning that AFC title game than winning the Super Bowl was.

Nope, he's supposed to be a really, really good kid.

I mistakenly doubted Johnson but after the bowl performance against West Virginia - when he actually had a semi competent QB throwing the ball to him - I realized it was Ball who brought him down.

So you're ok with your Ball disappearing but not your Johnson?

It took you that long? I realized in the 2nd half of GT vs ND in the 06 opener that Calvin Johnson had been screwed over.

I didn't know much about him before this year and I didn't get to watch the GT-ND game. The first game I really got a chance to watch was the game against WVU. The ACC championship game was unwatchable. I think their game against Clemson was the ESPN featured game but I didn't get to watch that one either.

Me and CCP were watching that game and were both screaming at Ball to get the ball (interesting) to Calvin. He was open so many times, but Ball didn't even look his way.
