A Volunteer versus a Gator, it's almost too much to have on my mind. It's the Year of the Gator. Bears win. Big.

Don't forget Alex Brown!

If anyone's wondering, Briggs wasn't actually at the event I was at last night, I just got the tickets through him. It was mostly just millionaire nobodies along with Mike McCaskey and Tony Dorsett. The Halas trophy was on display though which was pretty cool, and I got to pretend to be in the social elite for a few hours. Rachel Nichols was down in the lobby having drinks, and she is not nearly as good looking in person.

Oh I did not!

There are a couple others too. I dunno of they're on the active roster or not though. The Colts though have ZERO Gators. They can't win.

Rex Grossman, Alex Brown, Ian Scott, Todd Johnson.

Though I know I'll likely become very unpopular for saying this, I will anyway: The Vol QB is far better than the Gator QB though.

Yes but for one day one night the stars will change.

They didn't align for the Pats with Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, Chad Jackson and Kevin Kight.

What is it with the Pats and former Florida receivers? That's most of their receiving corps.

Super Bowl Super Bowl oooh ahhh! This is gonna be a long two weeks. I'm gonna try and enjoy the NFC Championship at least through tomorrow when I read the Tribune articles online. What a great day.

Whats going to be real interesting for me these next 2 weeks is how many experts doubt us now.......

Sean Salisbery is already calling for a Colts win, unless someone "gets hurt" before the game.

I hope they all doubt the Bears it seems to light a fire under them.

I want Don Banks to die!!!! Seriously, I want him to perish!!! Im not saying Grossman lit it up, but this is just an awful thing to write. The Bears did not win in spite of Grossman, they won because.

I'll be eagerly filing reports to see if Ball State survives this game. 60 percent Colts fans + 25 percent Bears fans here, so I expect some street brawls.

If the Bears come out wearing Florida Gators jerseys, will they be guaranteed a win considering Peyton Manning's history against them? :D

I'm feeling a mighty ducks (D2) esque halftime change.

"Rex Grossman Bloomington, IN"

...

"Brian Urlacher Lovington, NM"

...

"Robbie Gould Lock Haven, PA"

...

etc

Some interesting similarities I've thought of between the Bears' two Super Bowl seasons:

1985 was the second consecutive division championship after several years with no playoff appearances. 2006 was the second consecutive division championship after several years with no playoff appearances.

Super Bowl XX was played in New Orleans. The Bears beat New Orleans to advance to Super Bowl XLI.

The Bears' coach in 1985 had a five-letter last name (Ditka). The Bears' coach in 2006 has a five-letter last name (Smith).

The Bears' quarterback in 1985 had a three-letter first name and a last name ending in "n" (Jim McMahon). The Bears' quarterback in 2006 has a three-letter first name and a last name ending in "n" (Rex Grossman).

A member of the Bears' coaching staff in 1985 was a player on the previous Bears' championship team (head coach Mike Ditka was a tight end on the Bears' pre-Super Bowl era NFL championship team in 1963). A member of the Bears' coaching staff in 2006 was a player on the previous Bears' championship team (defensive coordinator Ron Rivera was a linebacker on the 1985 Super Bowl team).

Let's see Fred Hornkohl top this in terms of meaningless stats. :D

Well Rex is one of the faces of the Gators and Bears. And austere beauty such as the YOTG can only pick one team. Having NE vs CHI would have blown up Florida.

Predict the course of unneccesary Super Bowl hype...

1) Peyton Manning

2) Lovie and Tony: 2 Black Head Coaches

3) Rex Grossman

4) Brian Urlacher / Marvin Harrison

5) '85 Bears

C'mon, Modzilla. You're definitely not supposed to be using the general, wussy smileyface. Use something more terrifying like this
