Early line as per sportsbook.com is Indy (-7). I think Indy's favored by too much.

I got no problem with the Bears being dogs. :)

Seems like everyone's had us losing all year long, so I suppose it's only fitting that it remains the same for the big one.

We play better when everyone's doubting us, like I said before the Saints game. I prefer it this way. Let the national pundits pick against us once again!

I don't think it's as much a slight against the Bears but a slight against the NFC in general. No matter who ended up representing each conference in the Super Bowl, the AFC was going to be favored. Well, maybe not the Chiefs or Jets but who knows.

one thing i love about this team is when jones isnt running well, benson is, and when benson isnt, jones is. thats a great thing to have, one guy picking up the other.

that said, both guys will break the century mark against the colts.

Correct or not, I see the Bears as something like the Ravens. The Colts have to minimize turnovers on offense and try to score a few points (although I think the Bears secondary is a little more vulnerable than the Ravens), and the Colts have to stack up against the run and force Grossman to beat them on defense (where the Bears have better big play capability then the Ravens did). I don't think that the Bears will be able to run the ball consistently down the Colts throats, although they will be successful with the run.

Key Matchups: Colts offensive line vs Bears front 7 rushing the passer

Bears WR vs Colts DB's

The Colts also run a cover 2, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Desmond Clark catch 3 20 yard passes or so also.

:? They better if we want a shot in this game.

The really really scary thing is that whatever Peyton needs, that is what he'll get. Down 18? He'll get you 21. Down by 3 at the end of the game? He'll get you 7.

This Colts offensive is so absurdly powerful its almost unstoppable. We're gonna need to keep them off the field. Even so, I don't even know if we can keep them under 28 points. (I know I said the same thing about the Saints, but we got er, "luckY" with some key fumbles early, and they kept testing us with the passing game. I don't think that Dungy will be that unbalanced in his playcalling, nevertheless the defense came to the challenge)

I would have much rather preferred the rematch with the Patriots. Oh well. It would be glorious to dash Peyton's only Superbowl hope.

The early forecast has it being a high 72 in the afternoon with a cold front coming through and dropping down to 49 at night with possible showers at some point before the night.

just like the early forecast a week ago was Sunny and mid 30's

anything beyond 7 days is extremely unreliable

I'm not worried about Indy's firepower. The Saints had the best offense in the NFL and scored just 14 today.

The key is to force mistakes while limiting your own. Notice how amazingly the Bears hid a shoddy performance by Grossman today. Rex didn't turn the ball over, the defense forced turnovers...game over.

I suspect Indy will run the ball a lot. Clearly the Saints went way too heavy on the pass and it cost them.

Either way, I'm just glad that my boss is a huge football fan and purposely didn't book any shows at the theatre on Superbowl Sunday  Maybe he'll open the theatre up to the public again and show the game in Hi-Def on the 32 foot movie screen

That was a pretty heavy-handed apology. He's basically saying that although the Bears were better than he thought they were, they still aren't that good, and that he somehow was responsible for Lovie Smith's increased emotions or something.

He's a tool. Dur.

I actually am starting to think that Deuce got hurt in the 1st quarter. He only had 3 rushes after the 1st quarter. Did any of y'all remember seeing him catching a short pass and getting hit low near the end of the 1st quarter? He came off limping with a grimace on his face.

Im not sure, but i think i saw him limping a bit in the 1st or 2nd Quarter.

A heavy dose of Jones and Benson should do it against the Colts, so long as the Bears D does what they did against the Saints and Brees. Brees isn't used to getting hit or hurried that much and neither is Peyton. I think getting hurried that much messed with Brees a little bit, and it can work against Peyton. However, Addai has only fumbled twice this year.

Heavy doses of Larry Johnson and Jamal Lewis weren't enought to beat the Colts alone and Johnson is (with all due respect to Bear fans) a good bit better than the Jones/Benson duo.

In order to beat the Colts, the offense must score probably in the 20s and the Bear defense must be stout. You're not going to win a shootout with the Colt offense and probably the second best running back in the game today (Larry Johnson) with possibly the best offensive line in the game today couldn't beat them solely on the ground.

It's gonna take a full team effort for both teams, without question. And it'll certainly be a great game. :D

The Saints game has no bearing on Bears D v.s. Colts Offense. The Colts have a much better O-Line than the Saints (Manning almost never gets sacked), plus it's nearly impossible to blitz Manning with how smart he is. The Colts have a ton of weapons and have shown they can grind out drives or score quickly.

Grossman is going to have to play really well for the Bears to have a good chance of winning this game... the Colts will cheat and shut down the run like they did against KC and Baltimore if the Bears can't pass it.

Go Colts!

Isn't everyone at ESPN?

I do find it funny, though, how the biggest tool in Bristol (Berman) was the only one right about the game.

Couldn't you call the computer (accuscore) a tool...literally?
