Disrespect already for Rex. ESPN.com's burning questions has the last question asking if Rex is the worst Super Bowl quarterback ever. Very ignorant question in my opinion.

At least both of them answered "no".

Theisman answered no, but said that's only because he hasn't played in the Super Bowl yet.

"Give him time, and he'll earn this honor."

Sometimes, I wish LT broke Theismans neck, instead of his leg.

That's out of line. You don't wish injury and death on someone, I don't care how big of an idiot that person is or which team he's playing or rooting for.

I think everybody is taking this the wrong way. From reading his whole answer and his other answers, I think he is saying Rex is young and he'll prove that he is a good QB; worthy of leading a Super Bowl team.

I agree, he's saying Grossman will prove worthy of the honor of being a Super Bowl QB, even though many people think he's a blight on the game.

Theismann: No, Grossman isn't the worse quarterback in Super Bowl history. He hasn't even played in the game yet. Give him time and he'll prove worthy of this honor, even if he might not be now in some people's eyes.

Theisman has been a relative Bears supporter for a few years now. I remember him picking them quite frequently before the team really emerged as a real threat.

I have not had a chance to read this whole thread yet, but has this been discussed...

I think playing the Saints was a huge blessing for the Bears. I think the Colts are a little more effective on offense than New Orleans, but they are almost exactly alike. They have two impact running backs, they have great playmakers at WR, they have a O-Line that typically gives the QB time to pass, and a great QB who is coming off of a monster, MVP type season. I think Dungy will stay with the run longer than the Saints did, and the Colts WR's scare me more (mostly because of Dallas Clark), but the similarites are almost uncanny. If the D plays nearly as good in Miami as they did yesterday I think the Bears win. Coun't me in the "unimpressed" camp about the Colts D. I excpect the Bears to be able to run and pass pretty well on them.

Early, early, early prediction:

Bears 27

Colts 20

I'm confused...

this guy saysTank may not be able to go to Miami.

This articlesays he's already cleared to go.

They were saying on the news last night that Tank was cleared to go.

Provided he leaves his guns and marijuana at home of course.

Yeah, I heard he was cleared before the Seattle game, and the judge said something like "you are allowed to go, but I don't think you will be going because I am a Packers fan"

Gee, it's not like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have played in and won Super Bowls or anything.

I'd put him ahead of Roethlesberger from last year as well. Big Ben didn't play poorly, but his role in that offense was clear. Just hand off the ball to someone else.

Rex is not very good at football.

Carry on.

Seriously. For once, I don't mind the roll-eyes.

How many QB's have performed like Rex has with the amount of game experience Rex has? Not many. Hell, look at Drew Brees's first couple of seasons. If you compare, his numbers are right there with any of the greats this early in his career.

He may or may not become a great QB (all it will really take is the consistency to turn his clunkers into mediocre games like yesterday), but how anyone could pass judgment on him already, based on what he's shown, is beyond me.

I know. He had 7 games with a QB rating over 100. That's more than Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady... actually, it's more than anyone not named Bulger. The only problem is, when he's been bad, he's been really bad. And since that's all the media likes to focus on, that's all everyone hears about anymore.

He's an inconsistent young quarterback. But when he's on, he's actually quite good.

To be fair (and trying to stay out of the "is Rex good" debate), RSF said Rex IS not good at football. I don't recall reading anything from him saying Rex WILL NOT be good at football or HAS NO CHANCE at being good at football later.

If you make it to the NFL, you "are good" at football.(Quasim Mitchell being the exception). His post was far from anything "rational".

I don't see how that's fair. Saying he is not good at football is saying you don't know anything about football. You don't do what Rex has done in the NFL without being good at football.

OK, fine. I can go with that.

But to say that somebody who posted a 100 rating in 7 games, was pretty good in 4-6 others, and then, admittedly, crapped the bed in ~5 games, is not good at football is malarkey. Let's not even mention that this particular player helped carry the team down the stretch when his defense was struggling (including in a playoff game) and is about to play in the Super Bowl.

It's absurd.

Seriously, it's a total embarrassment that a QB with 2TD's 6INT's and a 55 qb rating in the playoffs is starting in the Superbowl. A total embarrassment.

I'm seeing a 66.8 rating, but great point. I hadn't realized he'd been that bad.

While I'm on your side about how RSF was being anything but rational, this isn't really the argument to make.

When talking about bad and good players within the context of the NFL, we're talking about how good they are relative to the talent in the league. Otherwise, you could never say that anyone in a professional league is bad at his particular sport. They're all, by definition, the best players of their game in the world.

Well now the article about Tank maybe not being able to go to Miami is on CNN.com's front page. I don't know what to believe now.

At half past nine in Courtroom 108 of the 2d District Municipal Courthouse in Skokie, Ill., defensive tackle Tank Johnson and his attorneys will ask Circuit Judge John J. Moran, Jr., for permission to leave the State of Illinois. Without Moran's permission, Johnson won't be going anywhere

Unfortunatly, this Moran is a Packers fan, I believe.

It's just an incorrect story that the AP or another newswire is probably running with. It was on sports radio and in the papers and very well publicized that Tank received permission to go to Miami and the judge, a Packer fan, said something to the effect of, "...but you won't be needing to go."
