Well now the article about Tank maybe not being able to go to Miami is on CNN.com's front page. I don't know what to believe now.

It's just an incorrect story that the AP or another newswire is probably running with. It was on sports radio and in the papers and very well publicized that Tank received permission to go to Miami and the coach, a Packer fan, said something to the effect of, "...but you won't be needing to go."

Do you mean judge?

Haha, my bad. Fixed.

At half past nine in Courtroom 108 of the 2d District Municipal Courthouse in Skokie, Ill., defensive tackle Tank Johnson and his attorneys will ask Circuit Judge John J. Moran, Jr., for permission to leave the State of Illinois. Without Moran's permission, Johnson won't be going anywhere

Unfortunatly, this Moran is a Packers fan, I believe.

I just find it hilarious that the judge's name is actually Moran. Is he a Cardinals fan too?

Probably, that or a Sox's fan.

I would be stunned and irate if Tank can't go. I don't care if they make him sleep in Miami Dade County Prision while he is there, be better be playing in the Super Bowl.

I don't know. If this is the case, we were reported incorrect information earlier. Either way, I'm not concerned much about it. It's probably nothing more than a formality. I'd be very surprised if they kept him out of the game.

After yesterday's game, I don't mind the disrespect at all. The team may or may not be inspired by it, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything. At the very least, they like to say they're inspired by it.

On top of that, the Colts probably SHOULD be favored over the Bears. But I think the Bears can definitely win this game. The defense just has to come to play again.

Over the course of the season, including the playoffs, youd o not believe that the Bears have proven themselves to be a better team than the Colts?

I do.

Not that that brings in match ups or anything.

Local moron and Saints homer here in BR sports radio, just stated that the Bears have no chance in the SB and that Manning was going to cement his legacy in the game w/o question. The moron said that the line ought to be 17 not 7. Talk about sour grapes and not recognizing their abilities. I LOVE IT!!! Thanks Jim, I'll be sure to pass the feelings along to the Bears.

EDIT: Also said no doubt the better team lost. WOW!!!

It's amazing how clueless 90% of sports journalists really are.

I know it's lame and it's a cliche, but this team really seems to feed off this whole Rodney Dangerfield thing.

So national media, keep yapping! Please!

May I ask how the Bears have proved to be a better team?

Record against Common Opponents-Colts-6-0, Bears-3-2

That's just one statistic. Now, I am not one of these Colts fans who believe that the Colts are better than the Bears-they are not. This is going to be a very even game, although I do think there are some matchups the Colts can exploit. I certainly do not think though that the Bears have proven that they are better than the Colts, and am wondering what your evidence is for that.

Yeah, it's crazy. I hears on ESPN News today that the only reason to play this game is to pass the time until Manning gets his Super Bowl Trophy.

A common opinion among the national press is that the Saints "gave" the game to the Bears with the fumbles, with no mention of the fact that every one of those fumbles was forced by the Bears. If I'm Lovie I'm playing the "no respect" card all week. The Bears are the 15-3, #1 seeded team here. I have no problem with the Colts being slight favorites (2-4 points), but the disrespect the Bears are STILL getting nationally is unreal.

I would say the evidence is that Indy lost multiple meaningful games down the stretch against ho-hum competition. Indy got the ball run down their throat repeatedly, and while the playoff run stopping has been impressive, it's been as much about teams abandoning the run against them as it has been about Indy stopping people. Both teams scored the same amount of points while the Bears gave up a lot less (and when you including playoff games, the Bears have scored more ppg).

I guess that would be the evidence. Although I'm not going to say that it proves the Bears are better. I think it's a great matchup of two equally matched teams. And I have no problem with Indy being a 7-point favorite. Spreads aren't about experts saying which team is better, they are a means to get people to gamble. Not many people would bet on the Bears if they were favorites due to the perception that they are somehow not deserving of being here.

Mike and the Mad Dog aren't giving the Bears a chance, predicting Indy wins by 14-20 points.

It's deja vu all over again.

We know these guys really know what they're talking about.

Seriously, it's a total embarrassment that a QB with 2TD's 6INT's and a 55 qb rating in the playoffs is starting in the Superbowl. A total embarrassment.

I'm seeing a 66.8 rating, but great point. I hadn't realized he'd been that bad.

rex's playoff's

2007 Sea 1TD 1Int Rating 76.9

2007 NO 1TD 0Int Rating 73.2

2006 Car 1TD 1Int Rating 54.1

So rexy has 3 TD's and 2 Ints and an average rating around the high 60's. Not great, but not nearly the trainrex everyone makes it out to be.

I was just looking at '06 playoff stats...Rex was just beginning to play meaningful football at this time last year. Take out that Carolina game, and it looks even better.

Thats not even close to being true. Thats all Kansas and Baltimore tried to do. They may have started passing more towards the end of the games, but it has definitely been Indy's D stopping some of the best backs in the league. And about the Bears being better in the playoffs, you cant ignore the fact that the Bears would probably be the only NFC team in the playoffs if they were in the AFC. Going through Seattle and New Orleans isnt quite like going through Baltimore (in Baltimore) and New England.

I think the Bears are a great team and could definitely win this game, I just dont really agree with the examples you used.

KC: 17 attempts

Bal: 20 attempts

NE: 24 attempts

Those aren't huge rushing total attempts at all.

That's the official storyline, but the fact is KC had only 17 runs while Baltimore had only 20, well below their season averages. Both teams threw considerably more frequently than they ran.

So you don't agree that Indy lost meaningful games to ho-hum competition down the stretch, or that the Bears rank much higher in the points scored vs given up department and have a better record?

Theyre talking about Lovie's contract situation on Boers and Bernstein right now. I would hope it would never happen, but they brought up the hypothetical situation where if the Bears arent gonna pay him, perhaps trading him for some first round draft picks. I doubt it happens and bet the Bears pay Lovie.
