It also gave me a new team to hate: the Florida Gators, I cannot stand their fans or football coach.

You're a good man (I'd recommend hating their basketball team too).

I hate all things Gators, but my hatred for Urban Meyer trumps all else Gators.

Does he do kickoffs? Our kickoff coverage was awul last week, so I would be scared of him there. I have no idea where we rank stastically, but I think our punt coverage is pretty solid. Practicing against Hester all week should have them ready for Bush on punt returns.

Bush regularly does punt returns, but not kickoffs. Michael Lewis returns the kickoff's. He's pretty good, he averages 24.7yds a kickoff, and has 4 returns of 40+ yards. To compare, Hester averages 26.4yds and has 2 returns of 40+ yards.

Also, I have a question for the Saints fans. Are you sick of hearing about the team being a symbol for the city and all the pity fans you are getting because of Katrina? That would annoy the hell out of me if it was the Bears. It almost takes away from the talent level of the team like they are some novelty team, overachieving for their fans who are going through such a tough time. While I rant, let me also say I'm sick of people talking about Drew Brees like he went to the Saints to be a savior to the region. He is only there because Miami wouldn't give him a 6th year.

I responded to this earlier:

Well, don't you dare think that Saints fans give a crap about the feel good story. It pisses us the hell off. Most of my friends and I were born Saints fans and raised diehard Saints fans who follow all the stats, players, and watch every game, etc.

It sucks to have the attention diverted away from a good football TEAM and focused on a good STORY.

As Cubs fans, we've followed their stats, players, schedules, and scores for years and years now, just waiting for the time when we can revel in the fact that we have a good team and look forward to something good coming from the Cubbies. What if all that patience and devotion were suddenly thrown to the wind thanks to a "feel good story".

It's bullcrap.

Anyone have a good guess on what uniform Bears will choose?

I'm gonna guess this one:

with the Saints having a regular road one

I would doubt they'd choose that one, and I'd guess the NFL wouldn't allow it. I think you only get 1 game with the alternates. They better go with the normal home ones.

Yea, it'll be navy on white... though I'd love to see them come out in navy on navy and win, just to shut up the people who think those uniforms are somehow jinxed or that they had anything to do with the Bears losses to the Packers.

Saints have a black road outfit they've worn three times on the road this year:

Yeah. Those unifroms have a "dominating" feel. Doesnt the home team choose the uniforms?

Didn't know that. You're right. Hester has 20 returns this season and Lewis has 37.

Let me get this straight, not only does GW throw out first pitches at a baseball games he is now running back punts for New Orleans. Is that his definition of federal aid?

The Bears' orange jerseys are among the very worst of all alternate jerseys currently in use in the NFL.

I love the Blue on Blues, but we always seem to play like [expletive] in them. So I'd be fine if they never wear them again.

I don't mind the white on whites anymore. I used to be bothered by them, and I always preferred the White T's and Blue pants, but white and white looked pretty good against the Rams.

Im sitting in class bored so i wanted to do a side by side comparison

Position Chi NO Advantage

QB Rex Brees NO

RB Jones/Benson Duce/Bush CHI

FB McKie Karney Push

WR Moose/Berrian/Davis Colston/DHend/Bush NO*

TE Clark Campbell/Miller CHI

LT Tait Brown NO

LG Brown Nesbit CHI

C Kruetz Faine CHI

RG Garza Evans CHI*

RT Miller Stinchcomb NO

I cant make a judgement right guard because I havent heard anything bad/good about Evans other than he is a rookie; so I gave the advantage to Garza because of that and because Garza has had a pretty good year.

McKie is a better reciever than Karney, and Karney has a reputation for being a solid blocker so I gave it a push.

Bush is divide as a running back and receiver. If I were to just put him as a running back, I would give NO the advantage because of his receiving, but then give the bears the advantage at wide receiver because of Horn's injury.

LE Whale Grant NO

DT Tank Thomas NO

NT Scott Young CHI

RE Brown/Anderson Smith CHI

SLB Hillenmeyer Shanie CHI

MLB Urlacher M. Simoneau CHI

WLB Briggs Fujita CHI

LCB Tillman McKenzie CHI

RCB Vasher Thomas CHI

NB Manning Craft CHI

FS Manning Bullocks NO

SS Harris Bellamy CHI

K Gould Carney CHI

P Maynard Weatherford NO

KR Hester Lewis CHI

PR Hester Bush CHI

I'd just like to say that Fred Thomas is the worst CB I've seen play this year, and the Bears definitely need to pick on him all game. Also, the Saints' LB's, while good at stopping the run, lack coverage skills and this would be the perfect time to incorporate Des Clark and our RB's in the passing game.

I agree with everything you said, but one thing. The Saints LBs aren't good against the run. They gave up 4.9 yards per carry this year, 2nd worse in the league. Passes to the TE, Crossing patterns, and screen passes (if the Bears have any in the playbook) would all be successful along with running the ball straight at them. Also, Moose should have a big game. I'm guessing Thomas will be on him a lot, and Moose should eat him alive. Going thru their gamelogs...... When the Bears played NO last year, Moose had 3 catches for 98 yards, and had his biggest play of the season (33 yards). Moose also had some big games against NO while with Carolina, presumably with a lot of that coming on Thomas.

I love the matchups in the pass game for the Bears, if Grossman is on.
