it seems pretty obvious that he was trying to cheat. of course, i don't know how he thought he could get away with it...that moron mccarver saw it within ten minutes.

it was also pretty clear that larussa was being told about it in the dugout during the 1st. larussa screwed up by not going out there then. he should have known that if he knew the cameras had caught it, then the tigers would know too.

I still think it looks like crap on his hands.

Yeah, it really does.

Also, it's kind of interesting how his performance hasn't changed since he took it off.

Or maybe that's due to him being more relaxed as det had already scored when he took it off.

Much adieu (by the cards hometown announcers) about nothing.

what amazes me is that he apparently had it on his hand during the yankee and a's games as well and no one noticed. my guess is he rubbed it off but it stayed sticky although not visible.

Never going to hear the end of this....it certainly doesn't look like dirt on Rogers' hand. He claims the ump didn't mention it, the ump said he did. Good thing there's no Yankees or TO news, or ESPN would explode in chaos.

Yeah, I still don't understand what he said in the postgame interview.

in the espn.com article, however, he said the ump told him about it

I'd be surprised if it's not just dip spit. If you don't get that stuff off pronto, it doesn't come off.

Baseball Tonight just showed stills of him in the DS, CS, and tonight. He had the same mysterious "dirt spot" on his hand.

How dumb can you be? It's the World Series, put it on your stinking glove or hat or something.
