I thought Illinois looked good today. Missing our two best players, playing a good Arizona in Arizona, playing 5 vs 8. Oh and McBride sucks.

 

They did play well without Randle and Smith. The team will improve throughout the season. I just thought it was very pathetic at how quick they blew their big lead.

 

And yeah, McBride is awful.

Well there were some horrible momentum crushing calls. The "charge" on Pruitt cost us 5 points, as Arizona answered with a two. Also the foul where McClellum jumped into our guy on his three point play, we will get better as the year goes on.

 

this is all true. at least all the "rookie" mistakes (the worst by Sr. Mcbride) kept this from being a loss totally from one-sided officiating. this team may make noise after-all.

question: will that be counted as a neutral court in the RPI?

We will make the tournament so I could care less. With Randle and Smith we will be a dangerous draw for someone.

UK played better than i thought they would, but oh well. i've been saying that for the past two years, and we haven't done much of anything. "tubbyball" is quite possibly the most boring thing to watch on the planet. we need a real point guard.

 

I only saw about 15 minutes of the game, but UK did a very good job of controlling the tempo of the game, as well as containing Hansbrough (which naturally has me worried - he shouldn't be that easily contained). Thankfully (from a UNC perspective), Brandan Wright can pick up a lot of the inside slack, and Lawson and Ellington do a good job from the guard positions.

I was at the Marquette game. We didn't play well enough to win, that's for sure. I'm going to sound like a homer for saying this, but it was also some of the worst officiating I've ever seen. Not just the calls against us. The referees were constantly overruling each other, which doesn't exactly instill confidence in the crew. OK. Rant over. But still, DePaul beating Kansas is big for the Big East, though. Week from today is Marquette vs. Wisconsin. That'll be a good matchup though.

Not an awful month for the Badgers. Cincy beat WVU in football, coupled with the NDSU win over Marquette means we dont have to hear about being the marquis defeats for those programs anymore. Missou St was a disaster though.

 

I know we have some big games coming up against Marquette and Pitt, but man i cant wait until Butch matches up against that dude from OSU. Only thing better than shutting the Buckeyes mouths is beating the Hawkeyes, but its close...real close.

UC Davis got their first win of the year yesterday over Jackson State who I thought was a decent team. They should savor this victory because they will be few and far between this year. The team is still getting used to the new offense and the shooters aren't making shots yet. Gonna be a long year.

A Badger, are you? Don't be so sure about winning against Marquette. I'd say it's an even matchup, personally. Oh, and don't forget that Wisconsin lost last year in Madison to these same NSD Bison...

ND wins 81-74 to give the Terps their first loss :D

 

Can't be stressed how big that win was, especially with top-10 Alabama coming in to SB on Thursday. This could be a leapfrog into something good. Thx Kyle McAlarney for having his first big game of the year with 18 points.
