I think I'd actually prefer a loss during the regular season rather than during playoffs. Gotta remember what it's like to lose a game so you can focus on NOT losing when it matters most.

It's hard for me to say I'd PREFER a loss, but I can certainly see the argument that it may be a benefit. That said I don't think we'll be 11-0 and I'll be saying to myself "We could really use a loss right about now."

The way BBB worded that (emphasis added by me) - of course all us Bear fans would prefer a regular season loss to a postseason loss.

Going 16-0 but not winning the Super Bowl to me would be like the 1906 Cubs, having the best winning percentage in major league history (I believe they still have that distinction) but losing the World Series to the White Sox. Give me 15-1 or 14-2 with a Super Bowl win any day.

It would be ironic if they lose one game and it's to Miami, since that's exactly what happened in 1985.

There would be a conspiracy if I ever saw one.

Unfortunately for Miami, they don't have Marino to lift them to a victory over the Bears this time. Still, I don't think the Bears will be undefeated.

Like most people, I'm circling that 3 game road trip as the most likely place where the Bears drop a game. Of course it usually doesn't happen like you think it would :)

Well guys i think its time to stop thinking about a 16-0 season...

Cards Activate Holiday, Release Ferri

Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has promoted wide receiver Carlyle Holiday from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and has released running back Diamond Ferri.

Holiday (6-2, 220) was signed to the practice squad on September 3 after being released in the team’s final roster cut the previous day.

Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Notre Dame in 2005, Holiday spent 11 weeks on the Cardinals practice squad last season until being activated for the final three games of 2005. He was inactive for two contests and made his NFL debut on special teams at Indianapolis (1/1/06).

Holiday will wear jersey #15.

Harris is officially listed as out for Monday night with an injured quad.

Tommie or Chris?

I am pretty sure he means the latter..

Please mean Chris, please mean Chris, please mean Chris....

Hey, if you would have read my post from yesterday, you would've seen Chris Harris injured his quad. Just goes to show you that everyone needs to read my posts more carefully.

I knew completely who you were talking about, but that doesn't mean my heart didn't stop beating for 2 seconds.

Jon, never do that again.

Hey, that chick Orton is with......is she really a "chick" you think?

I'd say its 50/50...IMO.

Neckbeard sho likes his Jack and Coke.

Don't spoil his party, he's having a good time! And don't tell me I wasn't the only one rooting for him to come in the 4th quarter instead of Griese.

Ahh, the life of a backup QB in the NFL. I could do that gig for a couple years. Hold a clipboard, rake in a few hundred grand per year.....

Here's a question for you all.

Let's assume the Bears are going 15-1 during the regular season. Do you want that loss to be against a legit team like the Patriots? Or would you prefer the old trap-game loss to a team like the Cardinals or the 49ers?

Legit AFC team that gets knocked out in the playoffs. I don't want it to be the Giants, who they might face in the playoffs.

"You can't think that way," receiver Anquan Boldin said. "You just got to go out and run your offense against them. I think that we match up pretty good against them. Obviously we see some things on film that we can take advantage of. Anybody can have the ball moved on them. Nobody is just that dominant."

I can't wait for Monday night.

they really can't think that they are going to run the ball effectively against the bears D, can they? if they do, they're sadly mistaken.

Old Trap-Game as that is likely to light a fire under them and motivate them to kill anyone else.

Week 6 DVOA rankings: Here

Bears with high marks pretty much across the board. Still feeling the effects of the "early blowout" with Jacksonville and KC benefitting the most. However, it's showing some early patterns thus far:

- The Bears are basically playing in a different league up to this point.

- The Eagles and Chargers are in the "next tier", significantly better than the rest.

- The Raiders and Titans are significantly worse than anyone else.

- Buffalo was hit hard by last week's blowout, but there's a good separation overall there between the "decent" teams and the "bad" teams. The 11 obvious bad teams are Green Bay, Cleveland, Detroit, San Francisco, Tampa Bay, Miami, NY Jets, Arizona, Houston, Oakland, and Tennessee.

By net DVOA, here's a quick division rankings:

1. NFC East - 85.2%

2. NFC North - 26.9%

3. AFC West - 20.8%

4. AFC North - 10.6%

5. NFC South - 2.1%

6. NFC West - -39.7%

7. AFC East - -48.4%

8. AFC South - -58.5%

The NFC North is boosted because Chicago is so far ahead, but also not as far dragged down by GB/DET as most other divisions' patsies.

The AFC East took a huge hit from 2 absolute blowouts.

The AFC South is just...not good; even after Jacksonville's huge win and jump up the rankings, they are still the worst division overall.

The NFC East is a fairly obvious class above the rest of the divisions.

After several years of AFC dominance, it looks like the NFC is overall the better conference this year, despite not being reflected in most power rankings list (legacy rules those lists most often).

25 per day... that's a tall order.
