I'm starting to think that the best case scenario is the Cards barely make the playoffs. Hopefully they get swept in the 1st round. Much as I dislike the Cards, I'm tired of Clemens. His presence and the "HOFer Heroic's carries his team" storyline will make the playoffs that much more unwatchable.

interesting take from steve stone on the score today regarding the cards collapse. he thinks that not having a closer was a big reason why this is occuring. the cards losing streak coincides with isringhausen going on the dl. not too many if any teams without an effective closer get to the playoffs let alone the world series.
