How some of you can dislike Clemens is beyond me. Target your anger at someone much more worthwhile than a perennial all-star, future HOF'er, and class act.

Wow, sarcasm? Name one instance where Clemens has exhibited anything below class-act standards, personality wise.

throwing the broken bat at mike piazza as he was running to 1b.

"I thought it was the ball"

I've hated Clemens ever since.

Same here. That was the most pathetic excuse of all time.

Sosa said it was all an honest mistake.

"I use that bat for batting practice," he said.

So the guy throws a broken bat. He wasn't even freaking aiming at him, he was just in the heat of the moment and threw something that landed at his feet.

Man you guys are picky!!! You've never gotten pissed off at your playstation 2 controller and chucked it across the room, accidentally hitting your cat? (Or some other random example).

I'm not trying to be insulting, but that is absolutely insane, judgmental, and ludicrous to base ones opinion of a 20 year career on throwing a friggin' broken bat. Man....talk about nit-picking, you guys would make great lawyers and awful diplomats.

I have to give Clemens the nod for that one.

Why does someone get his panties in a wad because some fans don't like Clemens?

We didn't say he wasn't any good. He's likely one of the top five pitchers of all time. I respect his ability, but I've never been a big fan.

I think Pujols is the best hitter in the game, but I'm not a fan of his.

I think Bonds is the best hitter I've ever seen play; I'm not a fan.

I don't like Jeter either, but he's never done anything to me personally.

Some people are tired of in every playoff for the last two years hearing the Roger Clemens drama and watching the tip of the hat and the spiel about how we may have watched a legend pitch his last game.

Is he a good pitcher? Definitely. Are we sick of him? Yep~

There's a whole lot more about the guy to hate.

I'm sorry, Clemens wins easily. Sammy's was implausible, but Clemens' was just absurd. My two-year-old daughter knows the difference between a bat and a ball.

OK maybe I should have emphasised that his statement was said in very broken English, while normally he has a decent command of his second language.

But yeah, I guess your right

So this is acceptable now? Personal attacks? I may use adjectives when responding to people, but I'm certainly not talking like this.

Who is we?

I love watching Clemens pitch. He is one of the greatest power pitchers ever to play the game.

Clemens losing 2-0 in the sixth.

I just noticed the Reds are still in this as well, and they have 3 left with Pittsburgh...Reds are winning 3-1 in the 6th. A Reds win plus an Astros and Cardinals loss would put the Reds within a game and a half of the Cards.

In saying we, I was speaking for those that are tired of the large media-driven Clemens circle jerk.

Thing is, he also threw a ball at Piazza's head that same World Series as well.

Clemens is a great player, but why should anyone be forced to like him?

That makes little sense to me. I can respect the player but be irked by the personality and the demeanor.

Seconded.
