Get well soon glendon. We cant trade you when you're injured.

Come on man is that really needed? He has a serious health problem. All he has done is try to get a spot on a big league team, he hasn't hurt anyone. Get Well Glendon.

You do realize this has the potential to be life threatening?

Does the sarcasm/snide remarks ever take a backseat here?

Glendon, take care of yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight, and may your doctors find the right way to treat you so that you can have a long and healthy life.

While we may not like Glendon the baseball player, I've never seen any reason to not like Glendon the man. I think snide remarks about Glendon the baseball player right now are beyond pathetic.

I hope he's okay.

Agreed 100%. Glendon has been nothing less than a class act in his entire tenure as a Cub, not to mention a pretty decent '04.

Heard an hour ago that he's "out of danger", according to Cubs trainer Mark O'Neal. Get well soon big guy.

Glendon seems like a really good guy. Can't pitch worth a crap, but a good guy. Hope he gets better soon. Edited by E.J.

The fact he's a Cub is all on Hendry, not Rusch.

If I was Rusch, I would have signed that contract immediately as well.

Get well, Glendon.

I have no desire to ever see him pitch as a Cub again but I somehow have even less desire to see this get any worse for him health-wise. It's always sounded like he's a great guy to have around the clubhouse and nobody deserves something this serious to happen to them no matter what our opinions are of them as a player. Get well soon, Glendon. I'm pulling for you.

Save it. If your gonna spew venom do it towards everyone making comments like this. Soccer10k said pretty much the same thing I did.

Furthermore, Im pretty sure those who have been around here a while know im not the type of person to try to slam someone when they're down. It was nothing more than a light-hearted comment. Dont get your undies in a bunch.

I'm not a doctor, but I think a blood clot in the lung can flat out kill you.

Glad they caught it, and hope Glendon is O.K.

Blood clots scare the hell out of me. Granted, Rusch was pretty far from the picture of health, but bad circulation can hit pretty much anyone. I take a couple of coated aspirin each day to try and keep things flowin' even with all the running and bike riding I do.

Frankly, I don't see a problem with either of our comments. I said I hoped he got better (which was sincere even though I said for the 2008 season) and expressed my desire to never throw another pitch for the Cubs again. I was not being sarcastic and did not imply that I didn't want him to get healthy again.

For yours, I'm sure you meant no ill will towards Glendon and were just trying to make a joke. I laughed.

We didn't say we hope this forces him to retire. We didn't wish serious physical harm upon Glendon. I don't really see the big deal with this. Other people besides myself and Roast said things along the same lines.

Someone will pick him up. He's a lefty with experience. Sometimes I think GMs just ignore the stats when it comes to those guys. "Lefty? Experienced? Sign him!!"

"But sir, his WHIP is 2.5 and his ERA last year was 10.50...."

"Sign him!"
