Stolen and updated from Windy City:

2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 6/9/06)

Team            W       L       PCT     GB
=============   ==      ==      ====    ===
Chicago Cubs    24      36      .400     -
Tampa Bay       24      37      .393    0.5
Pittsburgh      23      39      .371    2.0
Florida         21      37      .362    2.0
Kansas City     16      43      .271    7.5

The DRays have now have fallen behind the Cubs too.

Fecal League is pretty funny. I think Bush League would suit the Cubs organization better though.

Claussen almost had to give up this start to Joe Mays. If he runs his pitch count up again, we could see Mays by the 3rd or 4th inning, no matter what the score is. This matchup looks as lopsided for the Cubs as Thursday's did for the Reds.

.....which is pretty much a gaurantee that we get blown out. And who ever heard of the Cubs running the opposing pitcher's pitch count up?

Oh great, Neifi is playing against a lefty! I can't wait to see Neifi and his .371 OPS (yes, OPS) against lefties in the lineup tonight!

Even though Neifi hits right handed pitchers better then lefties, if you want to give Cedeno a night off, wouldn't it make sense to do it against a left hander? I mean, Cedeno can't exactly hit left handed pitching this year either, so we might as well have Neifi in where they are almost equal in order to get Cedeno in against all the right handers where Cedeno is enormously better.

The Cubs even got some of the breaks they’ve complained they haven’t gotten all year long.

And still everything nearly went kaplooey.

Bruce, if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. The word "kaplooey" is SADLY underused in sportswriting....:D
