  1. Ah the footnotes of baseball history..
  2. ESPN alternate here in Des Moines just picked up the feed.
  3. Getting rid of Kerry Wood and acquiring Kevin Gregg to be the closer were two separate incidents. One did not force, or even encourage, the other. Some actual arguments. Thank you, Kyle. At least someone around here can back things up. And I have a soft spot for residents of Williston, ND anyway. I have a bunch of family there. This explains so much.
  4. Bob Costas just said Nickelback and Avril Lavigne are performing at the closing party, so I assume you're right. I liked the "made in canada" montage. mounties, hockey, leaves, beavers, and moose..I think I would have just stuck with Shatner.
  5. but guys seriously what about the delicious gatorade?
  6. Peace dude.
  7. why dont you internet cub fans just back off
  8. I love Jonny Gomes. I dont love his defense. That said, if he comes cheap I'd be for it.
  9. Rome. Easily. Although Shogun will always be a favorite of mine. I haven't tried Empire, fairly sure my computer couldn't handle it without a new card.
  10. They were old last year. That was old at 10:39 AM.
  11. Weve got Roast
  12. Thankyou, good sir. Looks like a decent cast. Whatever events Hawk attends will be a freaking madhouse. I so hope I'm not in that room. How would we get our inside scoop into how Hawk is handling all this, then?
  13. Did the travel channel tell you that?
  14. This thread is a poster-child for controlled breeding.
  15. right, except brett favre is old for his profession and retires every offseason, only to wait for another team to cater to his every desire and allow him to come back after skipping all of the hard work during the preseason, whereas urban meyer suffered a serious of significant health incidents that made him think he needed to retire - very early for his profession - but then reconsidered and a day later decided to take a leave of absence in hopes that he could improve his health in that way. in other words it's pretty much exactly the same thing except in just about every way possible. Not gonna lie, I LOL'ed really hard at that one. Also, if I hear about Tebow calling Meyer dad one more time, yahmo shoot myself.
  16. THIS IS BEYOND THEIR NORMAL CRAPPITY CRAP CRAP
  17. We did not "get a few bucks in return for him." We got a near-worthless player whom we still have to pay huge money to over the next two years. The Cubs got both a few bucks and an (allegedly) near-worthless player. The huge money over the next two years is a sunk cost. The Cubs will not receive a single payment from the Mariners. Therefore they did not "get a few bucks in return for him." Instead of paying money to Bradley over the next two years, they will be paying slightly less money to Carlos Silva over the next two (or three depending on the accounting) years. The Cubs did not nor will they ever receive "a few bucks." I am mailing them $5, prepare to eat crow.
  18. This. Expand the rosters, and have a fielding team and a hitting team. Why not go all out? i'm for it! I vote erik goes all out on a 6-foot party sub and stops talking baseball
  19. Speaking of lines...couple weeks ago at Kinnick walked up the bathroom - no line outside. Good sign. Walked in - lines at every urinal and and stall. Get in line, look over and notice a guy spots a mop and bucket along the far wall - goes over and starts making use of it. Not long after, a line formed FOR THE BUCKET. Moral of this story is hooray troughs. If there is anything in life I love more than troughs is a good Michael McDonald Christmas song.
  20. what the [expletive] Location: Columbia, MO
  21. Jimmy's under the boards. Jimmy's in the open. Jimmy makes the shot.
  22. Both those picks were right in front of me (I was in the second row and the picks were literally right there) and this is pretty much true. DJK was fairly open and the ball just hung up there. Dont you know? Any quarterback with a decent arm could have made that throw. or at least EJ says so - must be true.
  23. I'm loving this game.
