There goes my HR Derby season....of course I was like 50 behind Truffle already.

Hmmmm, Pujols on the DL, Edmonds on the DL, Carpenter on the DL.....wonder if TLR will use the "bad breaks and injuries" excuse? No, wait, he won't have to, as Aaron Miles and Juan Encarnacion will both OPS 1.000 the rest of the year to lead the team to 100 victories.

Most of the entrants had Pujols, and I think Truffle was among them.

I find it odd that the best two players in the NL last year are now both on the shelf.

FYI Carpenter is pitching Monday or Tuesday.

Oh well. It's not like the Cards should be able to give him much run support with Pujols out.

We haven't scored any runs for Carp before Albert was hurt.

Also FYI - It's sounding like Edmonds isn't going on the DL after all and will play here shortly.

ESPN reported up to 6 weeks as well. Oh well sucks for the Cards. Good for us and the rest of the teams in the central. Teams took advantage of us because of our injuries, now we have to take advantage of the Cards. Pujols, Edmonds, and Carpenter on the DL, it's like a gift from God. We have to take advantage of this and slowly crawl back into the race. Lets hope the Cards have a June like our May. Our stars are coming back soon and the Cards stars won't be back for a while. If only Barrett didn't have to be suspended.

I think that no matter what happens to the Cardinals this year, there is absolutely no hope for the Cubs' season.

its not like the NL central is that good, the Cards are by far the best team, but take away huge players and they arent going to dominate. Cincinatti is a fluke and will fall back and the astors have fallen below 500. only 2 teams are above 500, 1 being cincy which dosent have pitching and St Louis which has some very very vital players going lame. its not like the cubs are 11 games back with 30 games left. to be honest with you, eventhough this wont likely happen, the cubs are probably in the best shape because Lee and Prior are coming back and key players are starting to produce.

1st basemen are dropping like flys in the NL central, Casey, Lee and Pujols so far

And this is the last time Sean Casey will be mentioned in the same sentence with Lee and Pujols.

Sean Casey Derrek Lee Albert Pujols.

that sucks, sort of. too bad the cubs spotted the cardinals 13.5 games. that lineup they have is pretty weak without pujols and edmonds. I was hoping pujols would get 74 though.

I guess I would rather have a clean player (maybe, I hope) like Pujols have it than Bonds.

Grammatically speaking, that's not a sentence.

Berkman tweaked his knee recently, and both the Cubs and Bucs lost their top 1B prospects to injuries too.

A perfect example of the difference between Dusty and Tony. Lee goes down and Baker let's the team go into the [expletive]. Now I didn't expect them to be as good without Lee as they are with him, but the Cubs still have some good players. Pujols goes down and the team is actually scoring more runs per game without him and have an 8-5 record.
