He messed up alot of things, including the decent minor league situation we used to have.

You'll get no argument from me on that point. He built an awesome team (on paper) prior to the 2004 season, traded for Nomar, and it has been unmitigated disaster ever since. It's hard to remember another GM who has gone from looking so good to so bad in such a short period of time. It's really pathetic.

Just the pitch count. No worries, his arm will fall off in a couple of weeks.

Actually, Dusty did something right tonight pulling him when he did, even if it was for the wrong reason.

The Cubs saw a total of 104 pitches tonight. Great job guys. Keep up that aggressive nature.

Bynum, pinch hitting for Howry, bunted into a FC, 5-6, Cedeno out at second

Yay for teh patented Dusty Baker "rally killing" bunt.

Lets all root for bad strategic moves.

The bunt's the smart move there.

Lets waste outs!

Don't be dense. It's late in a one run game, with a terrible hitter up and a singles hitter who has 2 hits on the day on deck. Absolutely you bunt there.

I know, a little belated, but heres my response.

If you can't bunt, don't bunt. How many times have we practically thrown outs at the opposition because we can't even lay down a bunt? Its sickening.

Why would you beat a left hander yesterday with some offensive production and then change the lineup? Was it because Barrett didn't play? I personally don't think he is that good of a play caller and if something works, why not stay with it? Edited by Tim Burr

we scored 27 runs in the three games prior to this one. So yes, we can buy runs.

We can't score them, however, with Neifi Perez batting 2nd and all of our hitters swinging at pitches early in counts.

Dusty's pep talk in the middle of the 9th:

"Okay dudes, here's what we gunna do now. This Coffey guy has the best ERA in the NL now so we gunna suprise him, see. We gunna swing at the first thing in the zone to take him off guard, like, you follow? Now go get em"

I was watching WGN, and they didn't broadcast Dusty's pep talk. Were you watching MLB.TV?

WTG screwing Zambrano again Cubs - just keep making sure that no stud pitcher ever hits the 75-win mark for his Cubs career and we'll be good.

So, it's official now..Neifi is in the 2 hole yet again. Baker is so stubborn the man never learns from his mistakes. Wasn't last year bad enough?

baker's just a fool.
