I don't care what anyone says, Jacque Jones has been a nice signing by Hendry.

Yes, a nice signing if your sights are on creating a .500 ballclub.

World Series champs aim a tad bit higher.

If we had a thumper in left and a better run producer in CF, Jones would be perfectly adequate in RF.

Too bad we don't.

Having said that, there wasn't much else available this past offseason (which wouldn't have been an issue had Hendry signed someone last offseason).

Bynum, pinch hitting for Howry, bunted into a FC, 5-6, Cedeno out at second

Yay for teh patented Dusty Baker "rally killing" bunt.

Lets all root for bad strategic moves.

The bunt's the smart move there.

Lets waste outs!

Don't be dense. It's late in a one run game, with a terrible hitter up and a singles hitter who has 2 hits on the day on deck. Absolutely you bunt there.

I can't wait to see Neifi come up with runners on base in a minute.

:puke:

How about for that triple on Sunday?

How about his entire crappy career? He's bound to get lucky once in a while.

In hopes of a big hit by Barrett, I'm going to watch his grand slam against the Cardinals again.

"That ball, deep into left field. Way way back. A GRAND SLAM."

I'm not going to get into the whole debacle in the middle of the game, but Jacque Jones has played very well for the Cubs this year. He's hitting .280 and his current OPS is about 50 points higher than it was last year.

Gotta get that player into scoring position being down by only one. Smart move. Too bad he had Bynum try to do it.

Wrigley was nuts that night. I was there and it was unreal.

Neifi: Best player ever. Discuss.

The sarcasm is getting old.

Neifi best player ever?

Pros:

Has hit .400 in a month before.

Can hit from both sides of the plate. Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, and Ted Williams couldn't do that.

Is a better bunter than Albert Pujols.

Can play 2B, SS, and 3B. He's versatile!

Cons:

Doesn't know that 4 balls = walk.

Not fan friendly. Refuses to sign autographs for fear he will be exploited on eBay.

Beats up homeless people for fun.

Yes, yes. There's never anyone available. That's why we suck.

Put your finger down and run around the bases Jacque. We're still losing at home to the reds.

sorry Tiger, but I hardly fault Jones for that one. he ran, didnt taunt, just raised his finger (#1 style) in celebration
