  1. Never fear, our "A" team is playing and doing a great job so far thanks to our astute manger. And John Smoltz a paid up member of the over the hill gang with Maddux and Glavine is on the mound.
  2. Dusty Baker seems to have a different lineup every day. Except for Pierre batting first, the lineup is constantly being juggled. How can this be putting players in their best position to succeed if the manager still can't figure where they belong in August?
  3. He is starting again tonight batting eighth. The more he starts him, the more I lose respect for Leyland. I wonder why they didn't bring someone up from their farm system. How much worse could they do?
  4. He is 2-20 with a .100 batting avg. Tigers are 2-4 with his presence in the lineup. I wonder how long Leyland will keep starting him? Maybe when they lose the division lead he might realize that Nefi is washed up!
  5. Does anyone else the Cards are flat after getting swept by the Mets? This is the time to kick'em when there are down!
  6. Please don't try to eat the steak, Jim, unless you don't want to see how the rest of the season turns out!
  7. It's for people like me that don't have a wife or a life! :D
  8. It is amazing that this team that got rid of Abreu, Liddle, and Bell are contending for the wildcard. It shows you how medicore the NL is this year!
  9. If they play small ball and give away outs in the first inning, not too many!
  10. Yes, somebody has to make out a different lineup combination everyday and burn out the pitching staff. And have a bunch of excuses after a losing game. Not easy to find someone like that!
  11. Things are looking up as Fatso can't win the game now and Dusty still hasn't used Nefi which is the only position player left on the bench. He can still save us in this meaningul game for the playoffs!
  12. Why don't they use a humidor to make the balls heavier in all the live parks? Isn't this giving favortism to one team? How about using the humidor at Wrigley field when the wind is blowing out? In case you are unaware, there is a lot of money being bet on baseball games and the total runs scored is one of the options. If the "doctored" ball can keep the runs down, do you suppose that someone betting on the total could get these balls in play at another live park? What makes these balls different and how can you tell the difference? Just wondering!
  13. 6 in row!! Can he reach 10? That might be a stretch!
  14. Yes, Bush can now pitch a 54 pitch complete game!
  15. Prior with a good 1-2-3 first inning. It looks like he is on his game so far.
  16. He's good, but he doesn't have the upside of Andy Pratt. I just got a chance to turn on the game. So they are on pace to lose to Juan Cruz. Did they lose to him earlier this year in Arizona(i.e. was he credited with the win)? Yes, he threw 5 innings of shut out ball.
  17. I wonder if they knew they were on the wrong side of the freeway, why they didn't turn around. Are they really so upset that they're trying to commit suicide? They have been on a nine game losing streak and Bonds has been milk toast without his drugs! Do you blame them them for acting crazy?

Prior I could be wrong, but I don't think this lineup has ever been used before. I guess that is why they pay Dusty the big bucks!
  19. Brenly questioned that. He wondered why Dusty didn't just let Rusch walk Pujols. The right move is to let Rusch walk him so the new reliever doesn't lose his focus walking somebody to start his inning.
  20. I never like him because I think Glavine's success was based on always getting the call on a pitch off the plate that is outside. This game makes me think he is about ready to do a melt down for the season.
  21. How about signing him for next April? Maybe he can go 5-0 again when it is cold and windy!
  22. Does the script call for them to sweep the Muts after getting swept by the Nats?
  23. Not a good indicator. I'll bet every team has a similar record when trialing by 3 or more after 7. Maybe trailing by one or two runs might be a better gauge because the game is still within reach.
  24. Don't you think that only 1-36 when trailing by 3 or more runs after seven innings is a good indicator that the team is heartless and has quit for the season?
