  1. WS are still in shock losing a game to the Cubs yesterday. Ozzie even got tossed out of this game after Thomas and Crosby homered!
  2. The Marlins need to get a guy named Fitch. He is in their "farm" system!
  3. You're right, the Marlins are possibly the worst team in baseball. There are teams in AA that could beat them. Plus, they have just lost 4 of 5 in the ninth or extra innings so they have to be down. If the Cubs can't sweep this team right now, they will have quit for the year.
  4. If anybody would take a chance on Lima, it should be in July. He is 26-13 since 1987. That is usually an indicator that he does better in hot weather. He is also 4-1 lifetime against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, so I think he has more upside than Rusch. :D The Mets should have tried him against the Cubs as he has the perfect MO to beat them!
  5. Fixed. They ought to let him wear a cardinals jersey when he bats!
  6. Zambrano has 92 pitches for 6 innings. I am guessing he will stay in for two more innings witha 135+ total so Baker can finish what he started, ruining the pitching staff? :(
  7. Thanks for doing a great job each day, Fred, you are much appreciated by those who can't watch the game.
  8. He is missing the extra power he got from the steriods besides the break down. And he is choking under the pressure. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Here is a funny song that is on the Giants board. http://www.paulandstorm.com/sounds/barry_bonds.mp3
  9. Don't you have any comfort that your wild tennis serve will someday be harnesed wawy from it's ball-busting state and into a nice consistant threat? Welcome aboard, Captain. Is your last name Bill?
  10. The Cubs have never been swept in a seven game series and SD has never swept anyone. Is this history in the making?
  11. Since Hendry got burned with Nomar, it would have made him look like a genius if he were stubborn and signed him for another year. How long he can hold up without injury is the question, but right now he sure has given the Dodgers a boost and is playing like an allstar!
  12. The title should be "Dempster or Dumpster?" or "Looking for my notes on how to pitch Piazza!"
  13. Just watched Barry Bonds shame himself in front of some former stars like Wille Mays, McCovey, Cepada, etc. trying to hit a HR. Those guys did it the old fashioned way, they earned it! They aren't as easy to hit out when you don't have the "juice" like Bonds did! (He would of had atleast 4 or 5 more if he was on it.) It sure would be great if he could get shut out the next two days and have to hit his HR in Houston without all the fanfare. It makes no sense that people want to celebrate a cheater! I was born in SF and lived there in the 60's and 70's. I used to love the city, but the people have sunk to a new low cheering for Bonds! I am glad I don't live there anymore.
  14. Alou is even more braindead than Baker with hsi pitching staff. Wright has over a 100 pitches, why was he still in?
  15. Where are you from? Just curious because everyone else is either following the game on WGN or on XM with Jon Miller? I am in Reno and get the game on Fox sports.
  16. Mike Krukow just said Bonds will hit his HR against the Dodgers. Hold your breath the last at bat, because he is seldom ever right!
  17. Those are very good, Goony, I never knew they were available without being a member of ESPN.
  18. The best is Yahoo sports mlb. Click on players and I think you'll find what you are looking for in split stats.
  19. I wonder why Barrett is not playing after he hit a HRand was 2/3 with 1 RBI last night. Tomorrow is a day game where it would be more logical to sit him so he will be fresh when they return to Chicago. Perhaps Zambrano prefers him? Otherwise, I can't blame DB for trying to juggle the lineup. This group can't do any worse. The only other thing is if this lineup just happened to win, it would probably be the last time it will be used! I have watched Matt Cain throw a few games on TV and he is no where near the pitcher Jason Schmidt is as he can be very wild at times. I definitely feel Zambrano will be Able to beat Cain tonight! BTW, The Giants are 0-5 in the 5 games Bonds homered!
  20. Posting a .798 OPS That's amazing becasue he never seems to get on base when I follow him! The last hit I remember he got was the Sunday before last. He is 1-13 with 5 base on balls. That is probably why Dusty Baker gave him his walking papers!

  22. What is Mark Bellhorn doing on a major league roster?
  23. He's a very good pitcher. I had him on my fantasy team until I traded him for Nick Johnson. Now I want his ERA to balloon!! I didn't realize that until I looked up his lifetime stats!
