cubscott34 hasn't put up the thread yet, so with the 9 pm CT stipulation, I'll come in and make a spot start tonight.

Big Z tries to FINALLY get his first win of the season tomorrow against yet another lefty (four games out of five!) and a guy that we usually kill (6.44 lifetime ERA against the Cubs) although he schooled us last April in a start at Wrigley Field.

Erase the memory of yesterday from your minds, because it's a new day! The rubber match kicks off with the award-winning Lead-Off Man program at 1 pm with the one, the only, da Len!

Actually, Dave Bush, a right-handed pitcher, temporarily interrupted the string of lefties when he pitched on Friday.

Win, you pathetic bunch of losers!

Weather.com calls for 90% chance of rain through the game with a 20 mph wind blowing from right to left.

The radar will automatically update:

(expect lots of green)

I can only hope that Monday night isn't going to be washed out, as well. That would not be good.

A day off after burning up the pen and looking really bad might not be a bad idea. Ask Crash Davis if you don't believe me. :)

I always try to be as optimistic as I possibly can when it comes to the CUBS.... but I'm afraid they're gonna lose this one to the weatherman. Oh well.

Go CUBS !!

Editing the original game thread post is clearly bad mojo. Hopefully the Cobs can get back to their winning ways if it doesn't happen anymore.

Lead-off program got an award? What kind again?

I have no damn idea, I just know that Len says it every time he talks about it. :D

FWIW, my editing was to fix a statistical error.

i have an all-day event to go to, so i'm hoping for the rainout

sorry everyone ;)

if not, go cubs!

Posted

well i'd prefer no rainout since i am so pissed off about the loss yesterday, but bullpen status i say let's have the rainout.

one stat not mentioned on the first page.

Cubs are 1-0 when scoring 16 runs in a game...0-1 when the opponent does it.

geez Rusch needs to OD on chocolate syrup so i don't have to see him on the mound ever again

I guess it could be worse. We could be Twin's fans; their game was 18-1 Detroit. GAAAH! It doesn't make me feel any better.

There had better not end up being a rainout. I'm leaving in 10 minutes to drive the three hours to Chicago for the game.

i don't feel too bad about yesterday since I had no illusions the Cubs would win that game to start with. Today, however....
