Hey guys! First post of many!

What do you think the chances are of this one getting in? If not, I guess I'll go see a flick. I really was hoping we would wash the bad taste out of our mouths from yesterday, but we might need the off day. When is the next time we have one?

Welcome! I just heard on ESPN AM 1000 that the Cubs will probably wait around all day to try and get this game in. The Cubs and Brewers don't have an open day, that works for both teams, for several months. Plus, the Cubs could lose 2.5 M if the game is rained out. They may wait for a window in the weather or just play during a constant light rain.

Should be a good opportunity to head down to Wrigley once the game starts and either get decent seats from the Cubs and move into better ones or get some deals from the brokers.

Sadly, I have work to do...

Thanks! I guess I'll stick around and hope they get this in.

I think they'll get the game in. It looks to be raining steadily right now, but it's coming up from the south so I think once the rain south of Chicago in Kankakee moves out of the area they should be fine for the most part. If there's a delay to the start of the game I don't think it'll be that long. I would guess the rain should be gone around gametime but they're gonna have to take time to prepare the field.

Cubs Game Notes

Today marks the final game of the month for the Cubs, who have a 13-9 record in April … this will mark the club’s fourth straight winning April.

© Chicago is looking for 14 wins in April for the first time since 2003, when the team went 15-12 in the opening month of the season.

© Last season, the Cubs went 12-11 in April … Chicago’s last losing April came in 2002, when the team went 8-16 in the opening month.

© The Cubs are hitting .260 (189-727) for the month while the pitching staff has posted a 4.46 ERA (96 ER/193.2 IP).

Matt Murton has at least one hit in his last five games,

marking his second five-game hitting streak this season … he also had a five-game hitting streak April 11-15, batting .474 (9-19) during that stretch.

Chicago’s .987 fielding percentage ranks fourth in the NL while the club’s 10 errors are six fewer compared to the Cubs’ first 22 games last season … the 2005 Cubs team had a .981 fielding percentage through the first 22 games of last season.

Carlos Zambrano’s 3.94 ERA ranks third among pitchers who have made at least five starts without a victory this season

against yet another lefty (four games out of five!) and a guy that we usually kill (6.44 lifetime ERA against the Cubs)

I'd take that stat with a grain of salt. In 2004 Capuano faced the Cubs twice in a row and got shelled both times, after the 2nd game he admitted he was injured and tried to pitch through it but was shut down for the season. Those two starts he combined for 5.2 IP with 15 ER, so when healthy Capuano has done just fine against the Cubs.

The good news is that the rain hasn't been moving west at all in NE Illinois and NW Indiana, so hopefully it will continue to just move north.

It could be out of here in another hour.

I actually liked what I heard out of Dusty in his pre-game interview today. Hopefully it means Glendon is gone from the rotation soon. It certainly seemed to be implied that he was going to do something about it, although he later corrected himself (likely because he hadn't talked to the fat kid yet).

What did Dusty say in the interview?

Yeah I was watching the end of the first half of the Bulls game, did Dusty say anything interesting? (what did he say with regards to Glendon?)

Cubs need this game. When you have your ace pitching these are games you have to win.

Agreed. However, Capuano is the Brewers' Ace (not Sheets)so it won't be easy.
