Cubs need this game. When you have your ace pitching these are games you have to win.

Agreed. However, Capuano is the Brewers' Ace so it won't be easy.

ummmmmmmmm.........Ben Sheets.

What did Dusty say in the interview?

He said he had talked about Glendon to Larry, then said he was going to talk to the fat bastard before doing anything. Then he said something like, well... I guess if we do anything.

Then when asked about rookies he said he liked how his up here weren't really playing like rookies and were playing really good. And said that he wouldn't necessarily be against 3 rookies in the rotation.

Also, he said that the 3 pitchers will come back in the order of Wood, Prior, and then Miller. Sounds good that Prior could come back before Miller.

Sheets isn't even active. Capuano is a good pitcher.

Wrong.

Yeah, I know, as soon as I typed it but that doesn't make him the Ace. Capuano has been their most consistent starter.

Capuano is a very good pitcher. I agree with that. I don't think he can be a dominant as Sheets is when he is 100% though.

Capuano and Zambrano are in the same boat. An argument can be made that, when they have their full rotation, neither is the most dominant pitcher on the staff. However, both are their club's respective aces based on prior years performance and consistency.

Sheets is defineately the Brewers ace over Capuano. I don't like the Zambrano analogy for Capuano, as Z is a much better pitcher than Capuano...and has a long track record of success.

Uhmmm Capuano is not near the pitcher Sheets is.

That means nothing if Sheets can't stay healthy. Capuano carried them last season. I wouldn't say that Zambrano is as dominant a pitcher as Wood or Prior when all are healthy and at the top of their game. Heck, Doug Melvin even described Capuano as the ace when he was interviewed on The Score Friday. When Dan Bernstein talked to him about Sheets injuries Melvin was quick to say that Capuano has emerged has the leader of the staff.

Sheets threw over 150 innings last year, it's not like he spent the year on the DL.

Capuano was barely above league average last year. Regardless of what cliched speak their management proclaims, Capuano isn't the ace. Heck, Davis was better than Capuano last year.

If Rusch is out of the rotation who takes his spot? Daniel Garibay?

Hill or Williams.

I'd imagine they would bring up Hill since they just sent Jerome down, no?

If the Brewers win anything this year or next, it will be with Ben Sheets as the ace.

I agree that he is the key to them winning. Then again, the Cubs aren't going anywhere without at least one of Wood or Prior returning to form. That doesn't mean that Zambrano isn't currently viewed as the "ace" (even though he won't be when they return). To me, the same can be said for Capuano; who's anchoring the staff while Sheets finds his rhythm.

Anyway, go Z!
