How pathetic is the SEC out-of-conference scheduling?

Look at this year or any year in the past. One example; Georgia Tech's win over Vandy Tuesday Night marked the first SEC opponent other than Georgia to play at Tech's floor in the last 27 years. Conversely, Tech has played 27 games at various SEC home floors during that time.

Wow, UCLA goes into Tucson and beats Arizona 85-79 despite Jordan Farmar missing chunks of the game after re-aggravating his ankle injury (for about the 10th time this season) and the top 2 Cs on the depth chart being injured. It was the first UCLA victory in Tucson since 1997 (when the Wildcats won the championship).

Arron Afflalo is a stud, Lorenzo Mata looked impressive at center and should start even when the regular centers get healthy.

would be an interesting study if you expanded it a little.

So they don't do that just in football? Except for Tennessee of course, they play anyone.

Who's more useless? Warren Carter or Shaun Pruitt?

I'll go off the board and say Brian Randle. That guy is probably the most gifted player we have and he's showing he's just not ready for big time basketball yet, even though he should be. I know he missed last year, but it's amazing how his easily his confidence can get shaken. I love Augustine, but once again he's decided not to show up for a big game.

Yeah but Randle can actually play defense.

OT somewhat, but it sure is great that my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th favorite sports teams are the most popular topic in their respective sports' threads.

Randle really neutralized Ager tonight defensively. But I agree that he is very frustrating, because he may be the most athletic player in the Big 10, and seems to have no desire to show it. At least he has a couple years to get it.

he was the difference on defense, but his perimter game is non-existent. he better work on it at some point.

FREE WARREN CARTER!

No, please don't. Free Jamar Smith.

agreed.

great defense by Illinois tonight. To hold a team that was averaging 80 a game to 50 is pretty remarkable. Hopefully they don't take Iowa for granted on Saturday even though Horner is out. Nonetheless though, a very nice win tonight :)

well i guess i was wrong about this...I saw the box score for the Iowa game last night and Horner did play. I could've sworn he was injured and he was going to miss a lot of time..

ND lost in 2 OTs to Pitt, 100-97. Career-high-shattering 37 points for Chris Quinn including leading two ridiculous comebacks in regulation and in OT. But a controversial foul call on him leads to him fouling out with 5 seconds left and no one to take ND's last shot. Resilient effort by the Irish. Tomorrow I'm going to Chicago to see the DePaul game in person.

Ball State lost to Akron, blowing a lead. Painful stuff.

KU is playing great so far and UK has been terrible as they have been most of the year.

I think that game said more about UK than KU. Still, I like KU's defense.

I also can't figure out what Patrick Sparks is good for.

i don't understand the hatred on espn for illinois. they are up by 2 in the first half, and they are "in trouble"

now the announcers are ecstatic when they are down 9 :\

Majerus is a horrible announcer.

Lavin's worse. You can't go 5 minutes without a story about Baron Davis or Dan Gadzuric.

Arizona is barely beating USC in Tucson in the second half. Lute nearly got T'd up, it was entertaining to watch him have a hissy fit. But, it'd be nice if Arizona would win convincingly, so a UCLA win in Tucson means something.

Wow. The 'Cats take it to Minnesota on the road and start 2-0 for the first time since '82. A win over Penn State at home on Wednesday would give them a 3-0 start. Bad finishes to both halves, but Craig Moore's shooting is really coming around. If Cote could start hitting some, that would help a ton. Hachad should be back Wednesday, too.

Oh, and Michigan BARELY beats Purdue. Purdue had plenty of chances to tie it up late on the road but couldn't do it.

rick majerus is an absolutely horrible announcer. maybe the most biased announcing job i have heard all year in any sport

Yeah, I especially thought he was biased when he picked Illinois to win the Big 10 despite losing today.

Good chunks of it.

Majerus is my favorite announcer, he actually offers something beyond platitudes. He may have favored Iowa somewhat, but that's what the tide of the game was.

Also, it's not hatred of Illinois for ESPN and the media to get excited when they are losing. They've won what, 54 of 55? It's big news when they might get knocked off, just like all the close calls USC had this year that the media jumped all over while in progress.

damn that was terrible performance. to answer an earlier question, Rich McBride is the worst player on the team. Nice game from one of our shooters. Seems like we always play poorly against Iowa, I don't understand how they can play us so well, yet struggle with much lesser teams.

I guess thats one way to look at why the media gets so excited at the prospect of illinois losing. I don't get why Iowa fans stormed the court though. That was just hilarious. I thought it wasn't an upset??? :?

Majerus sounds good for the first 5 minutes then you realize he is just going to repeat the same thing over and over. He was going off for the 5th time about how great the freshman guard on Iowa was, even after he had just turned the ball over, and committed a stupid foul. I'm guessing he just looked at a few notes for the game and wasn't prepared at all, because he kept going over the same stuff over and over.

Rich McBride cannot touch Warren Carter when it comes to awfulness. Somebody remind me to plant some drugs or underage girls on him when I go back to Champaign. He's approaching Nick Smith level for me.
