Swift should have got more than 9 carries. He was running fine.

That's what happens when you're behind two TD's early and playing catch-up the whole game though.

It was a 14-7 game in the third quarter. Burden, Raymond, Johnson had 10 carries combined. Just saying. Roschon also had a key 3rd or 4th down carry (can't remember which) early too.

So being at the game yesterday, Packers fans were actually booing the offense going into the half after the couple sacks lol. Not sure if the broadcast picked that up. The 3rd and 22 just swung the whole game. So disappointing.

With Caleb' impending return the offense will fine, it'll be lethal, not worried about that side of the ball.  Defense is the big concern, since Johnson is incapable of covering anyone and Stevenson isn't much better what can they do?  Gordon' return may help, you're still left with liabilities in Johnson and Stevenson, could a trade be in workings?  A trade and bringing in some guys off the street?

Even down 21-7 they tried to be too cute, running laterally is to Packers' benefit.  Should have kept running at them, in time, they would have caved in, hopefully, come Christmas we won't see any lateral runs.

Yesterday was so bad, every time I tried to watch I saw us do something stupid or frustrating.  We have been so inconsistent week to week.  I know a lot of that is the qb injury issues but problems seem deeper than that.

Issues on offense are no deeper than having a really bad QB, they'll disappear once competence is restored at QB.  Defensively, the biggest issue is Johnson can't move, don't know if there's a fix, think finding a way to get him off the field could help.

Wow, Odunze literally knocking the ball out of his hand with his knee might be one of grossest displays of incompetence I've ever seen from a Bears player in all my years of being a fan.  His number of snaps and targets needs to start going down, I think they will.  One good thing Odunze is making it pretty obvious he's not worth a second contract from the Bears.

I can’t really get too worked up with Ben’s play calling, he had a QB who literally couldn’t deliver a catchable ball if it was thrown further than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. Of course you’re gonna see the John Shoop/Ron Turner desperation offensive plays like jet sweeps and WR screens. You can’t run a normal offense in those conditions.

what you CAN fault Ben Johnson for is seeing Bagent for two years and thinking he could run a normal pro offense. That clearly isn’t the case, and Bagent should have been replaced at halftime, when the Bears still had a chance in the game (not a very large chance, mind you, but a chance)

He’s right. They all can. But not giving Bagent a vote of confidence is pointing to Keenum being the starter if Caleb is out. And Ben should have realized that Keenum was the QB to start after the Eagles game. It was a big miss.

He has a career 66.2% completion rate. If you care about stats that truly matter then you’d know that Bagent is a top 15 quarterback.

Did I see something about the All-22 for Bagent being terrible? Receivers continuously open but, missed, bad passes, etc.?  Not surprising, for most offenses competency at QB is kind of a requirement.

Yes, he did not see the field well at all

All this BS about Ben being out coached, yadda, yadda, yadda boils down to the wrong choice at QB and sticking too long with said wrong QB.  If Caleb can't go vs. Atlanta I'd expect Keenum to go.

All we can do is wait until the next match up with GB but, man, some of the BS I'm seeing about the Packers' greatness because of one game vs. a very bad back up QB is outrageous.  Nonsense about the Packers knowing what the Bears were going to do, etc. all of it was a result, of them, rightly so, not respecting Bagent.

This is...quite a statement! There is a rich tapestry to call upon here, ha

No argument there, did you happen see the clip?  It's just so pathetic most especially against GB.

I turned the game off after Keenum threw the interception in the mid-4th quarter. As far as I'm concerned, the Odunze fumble is in some kind of Schrodinger's Cat situation where I acknowledge that it could possibly exist but I am not going to open the box and actually watch video of it.

Yeah, pretty silly outcome. Ball security matters at all times - a defender could have punched that out the way he was holding it up in space.
I immediately thought of Javon Wims' drop and punching another player, the former Dallas RB who ran out of bounds instead of staying in...Marion Barber, there are so many others. Craig Steltz, Alonzo Spellman, just a neverending fountain of horsefeathers players.

Happens to all teams, they're human and mistake prone.  From playing sports personal experience can't tell you how may times I failed to execute the simplest of things, something I've literally done 100 or more times consecutively. Yet, on that 101st time, blah, complete horsefeathers up.  Of course, with Rome, I could overlook such a horsefeathers up, if he mostly caught all other targets.  But, he doesn't, all his problems stem from an inability to catch the ball, which is frustrating and makes that instance more egregious.

With Odunze, mistakes like that are going to receive extra scrutiny because they are taken in the context of dropped passes and just generally being a disappointment.

Watched some of the Bills-Rams last night, I didn't see Adams or Nacua creating big separation, they're not speed merchants either, Rome might faster than them and might be more physically gifted.  Biggest difference - they catch the horsefeathers ball.
