The Brewers could vacation in Cancun before this series is over

They're going to rest up their relievers and probably steamroll the other team in the WS.

The Brewers swept the Dodgers but the Rays are having problems with Cleveland.  We all know how this WS probably goes.  Would be an exciting series if the non-Brewers team surprises us.

I wonder how much they’ll milk the underdog shtick as -220 favorites versus whoever wins the AL.

They literally are not playing by the same rules, with small market teams getting extra compensation that large market teams don't get.  Essentially, MLB is telling large market teams they HAVE to spend more to maintain an even playing field.

Exactly. “Why can’t we draft and develop like the Brewers?”. Competitive balance picks, restrictions on international free agent signing bonuses and you’re not even allowed to tank properly with the Whitesox drafting 10th after losing 121 games. What was the Brewers comp pick for Willy Adames again?

Milwaukee deserves all the credit in the world for talent evaluation and player development but the Cubs can’t model themselves after the Brewers because of the rules. You either spend or you’re stuck in MLB purgatory.

Thank you. 100% correct. I want same rules for all. If it means owners have to share revenues equally, fine. Wanting this does not mean I want a cap. But to me, this is the simplest solution if you want fairness and parity. About the only thing I would add to this is a floor team payroll. This way an owner can’t just pocket gains and not put at least a fixed dollar amount back onto the field. There would still end up teams that are usually good and usually bad. But at least all roads would lead to the FO, coaching and knowing ownership might not spend like other owners even though they have the same resources.

I’m fine with revenge sharing only to to a point. I enjoy the parity. I’m in favor of taking away first round picks for every team that goes over the 3rd LT threshold and other penalties for deferred contracts, Perhaps losing more draft picks and international FA restrictions on teams who go over the 2nd threshold too but the Dodgers being swept by the Brewers doesn’t change the fact that they’ve made a mockery of the competitive balance of baseball, they make George Steinbrenner look like Tom Ricketts. But if you’re spending infinitely more money on Yankees tickets than Pirates tickets then fans should get what they pay for.

Why was the crowd singing "Take Me Home Country Road" every five seconds?

Chase DeLauter being from James Madison is somehow associated with West Virginia and they sing a chorus of "Chase DeLauter hit a HR" - I know, it's weird.

Who knows if it's a trend or a fluke, but since 2009, the team to clinch the pennant first is 4-12 in the World Series.

Right now the Brewers are -165 to win the WS. I don't think they will be that much of a favorite at -220.

Vs Rays -150 is my guess

If Cleveland wins the next two games they probably are -180

Eh, anything can happen in a 7 game series. How many Cubs fans (myself included) and experts had the Cubs winning the 2016 WS in 4-5 games just because the Cubs won 103 games and Cleveland only 94. Being on the brink of elimination 3-1 down totally horsefeathers all over those predictions.

If by some chance Junior Caminero hits a walkoff home run to win the World Series, they better hope his run isn’t the winning one because he might never finish rounding the bases.

A few years from now I could see a pitch clock added for home run trots haha.

For some reason these crazy HR trots are less offensive to me in the MLB than other levels (I'm probably just getting desensitized). Imagine if a high school or little league player had a trot like Caminero?  Everyone would want to drop-kick him lol

the uniforms the rays wore last night are beautiful, especially with the colored high socks

That celebration didn’t bother me at all. He took the game from 3-1 to 5-1. And the game was one that by winning they went to the World Series. I agree if a high school kids did that game 7 of their season it will be annoying. Hell, if a major leaguer did that during the regular season, it would be annoying. But this is a huge game and a huge hit. And against a dominant pitcher. And Junior hasn’t done much in the series.
