PFF graded Caleb as the 20th best QB this week. Forget they exist

JJ Watt absolutely shredded them for that.  Those scores are absolutely worthless at this point.

How to completely invalidate years of work forming a system in one week.

Reading PFFs explanation makes it even more moronic. So basically the play where there was a flag and Caleb would have thrown an interception in the endzone, but it was negated.  That was still counted against Caleb by PFF. They're completely ignoring that the penalty was what caused the not interception in the first place. What a stupid system.

Good for JJ Watt. How can Caleb be ranked 20th after week one. He played a great game. Even using the stupid standard if having to complete 70% he did that. 2 rushing TD and 2 passing TD, 70% completion and no turnovers. And his team scored 59 points. What the hell else does he need to do?

So, does this mean TD passes and other completions negated by penalties are counted as well?  If I recall correctly had at least one completion negated by penalty.

Watched Jenkins' film break down, noticed often times had two defenders sometimes three defenders around Loveland, ignoring Kmet, Raymond and Burden, did they really think that was going to work?

PFF had like massive restructuring and layoffs and stuff.  They're toast.

Williams ranking and the explanation for it certainly isn’t going to help them. It is ridiculous.

iirc (too lazy to look it up) they put out an article in like mid-late august ranking secondaries and it talked about coby bryant as a new add like nothing happened

I didn't watch a breakdown but I figured with the way things were going, they probably doubled Loveland.

this is idiotic, lmao

Caleb was 21 of 29 and at least 3 of those incompletions were purposeful throwaways.

Just a totally useless metric.

They were doubling him, sometimes three defenders were around, ignored Raymond, rb's out of the backfield, even, at times, Burden and Kmet.  Gearing up just to limit Loveland' touches doesn't seem like a sound approach, I'm certain Ben was more than happy to spread the ball around to other receivers.

They had Kenny Pickett ahead of Caleb on Sunday. He came in during garbage time and was 0-1.

"At that point, I was open for 60. I was thinking a 2-point try at some point. At that point, I was open for 60. I was thinking a 2-point try at some point," the host Jeff Joniak said to Johnson.

Johnson replied, "I don't think you're the only one."

I had nothing to do and watched the replay last night. Caleb shined when he shined but left a lot on the table and missed too much, imo. Goes to show this offense has much more upside.

that game being close at halftime was ridiculous

Time to start brainstorming nicknames for this offense.

Credit to Mike Florio on this but maybe we just keep it simple and call it the 59 offense?

Brilliant!

But what if they go beyond 59 at some point?

Would love to encounter that problem.

I know some one who has the inside scoop with gordon, and this is the same thing he's being told. Gordon doesn't like the bears team doctors, thinks they misdiagnosed him, went somewhere else, got it figured out, and is on track to return after week 4.

Dan Bernstein just put out a podcast where he has serious questions on Kyler Gordon’s personal foot doctor, Montel Fleming/Dr Moe. He’s claiming the guy is sketchy or a charlatan. If this guy is all about injury prevention, why have Jalen Johnson and Kyler Gordon been some of the most injured Bears?

Biggs also talked to him https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/09/14/chicago-bears-brad-biggs-10-thoughts-season-opener/
