I know Thornton sucked so that means the entire pen should be burned down. But if the Cubs don’t give the reds 5 outs in the 7th it is a tie game. Can’t play bad defense AND have a bad pen.

113 games now out of 135, theyve given up at least 1 homerun.

4 away from tying the 1999 team record of 117, 13 away from mlb record of 126 set by Baltimore 2019.

27 games left

They're gonna blow away that record. I'd say at least 133

Anyone catch the end of Counsell press, a reporter asked him about Rea and something about a report of Counsell being afraid, Counsell said he had no comments on that and left.

Anyone know what that's about

I went back and listened, someone asked him about a report mid-game that Rea was going to be DFA'd, and Counsell said that was not accurate and he couldn't comment anymore than that.

Damn management needs to take a good close look at themselves for the way they navigate through the bullpen, much less using starting pitchers. Look at how the Brewer coaches take hand-me-down players and somehow make them look like super sleuths. How we looked at their bullpen ERA over the past two months? Incredible!   CC and his coaching staff s-u-c-k bigtime and a house cleaning needs to take place at the end of this dismall season. I don't expect September to be a bery good month.....Outlook 2023: That Giant Sucking Sound (Updated / Corrected) – Alphacution Research Conservatory

Overreact much? I would say so. Dismal season? Come on man. They are probably going to win 90+ games. If you want to follow a team with a dismal season follow the Rockies. But if you follow the Cubs at least have a clue. Also CC and the coaching staff aren’t even close to sucking at their job. Again, get a clue. They are struggling right now. Act like you have some knowledge of how baseball works and realize they are still very good, but things aren’t going great now. And stop being so fricken overboard.

They’ve played themselves into a position where missing the playoffs is a possibility.  Where they go from here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This has been one weird ass rollercoaster season.  10 game winning streaks, 10 game losing streak.  Locked in the top WC seed.  Teetering on the edge of losing it.  Fighting a plague of injuries all along the way.

It was probable a week ago when all they need was to win 16 of their last 34. Now finishing 14-13 with 7 left vs Milwaukee, 6 3 and 3 vs Miami, Boston and Atlanta is more of a possibility than a probability at this point, as is home field advantage.

We’ll need April-May 8th and June 11th-August-12 Counsell to show up for these final 27 games.

Missing the playoffs while winning the tie breaker against the 3 wildcard teams ahead of them, going, a combined 15-4 against Philly. SD and AZ. That would be extraordinary.
