damn, Meghan hitting King Tuck with the jab

I'm honestly o.k. with it - dude is getting paid a LOT of $$ - you are open to criticism when you are getting paid to do what Pete is but in reality, are producing less than Conforto.

Anyone have a link to the White Sox call (radio or TV) of the PCA walk-off?

Actually I found one.

Ok it was worth sitting through some crappy moments and then some tense moments.

1 win in the next 2 games secures us the Crosstown Cup for another season

I’m not from Chicago - how does the Cup work? Wouldn’t it be 3-3?

Yeah, the current owner of the trophy retains the Cup in the event of a tie. I mostly joke when I bring up the Crosstown Cup because I haven’t seen anyone talk about it or give it out on the field for a few years. But technically the Cubs have held it since 2023

"Doesn't chase wins"

I'm glad the Cubs won, but not just Counsel, it seems like a lot of managers don't recognize the obvious signs a pitcher is gassed. Two games in a row now, he's left the starter in an inning too long.

This debate usually comes up in the middle innings and it seems like the pieces that are missed are A. Middle relievers are generally not good at pitching, and B. It’s really hard to get 4+ innings out of your bullpen every night. Shota was really good tonight, and in his last inning he had a walk, a K, and two weak fly balls. I don’t know if it would have been wise to start the sequence of trusted relievers an inning earlier and be left with…Aaron Civale or whatever in the tenth.

Well when you also lollygag after dropping a ball with 2 guys on base you also deserve all the heat.

I really hope it's because he feels he needs to get more length out of his SP to save the pen.  Because yeah Shota was clearly gassed.

But it makes me PO'd Peterson comes out of the pen for only an inning.  Like WTF.

I think its funny that Busch hit a fly ball that only would have been a HR in Houston (shortest LF porch) and another that only would have been a HR at Yankee Stadium (shortest RF porch)

What's lost in all the excitement is how ass Zeferjahn has been.  I still like him a lot as a reliever and think he will be fine... but it's hard to think he's still in the "circle of trust" at the moment.  I'm not sure what's plaguing him but he has to figure it out and quick.

I was kind of surprised he didn’t have anyone warming up, but after the lead off walk Shota had an easy inning. Fly out, K, and pop out. There was a lot of complaints about Shota this entire game and the fact is he pitched very well. He left one pitch in the zone for Grichik, and walked a couple of guys. But he stuck out 10 batters and gave up only 3 hits. Cubs can’t keep taking pitchers out after 5 innings. They need length. And Shota handled it well.!

Did you really want him to pitch the 10th. I thought the very obvious move was Webb in the 10th. Are you just looking for something to bitch about with CC. Because this makes no sense. Has he left Peterson in people would have rightfully criticized him.
