If he is throwing it only 5 mph off of his 4 seamer then he isn’t throwing it like a circle change. He needs less forefinger on the ball to create greater velocity separation.

How come pitchers get whatever time needed to warm up after an injury but hitters have to come in cold to bat for someone that gets hurt?

They should be able to get a few swings in cage before coming out
