I have the MLB Extra innings package, and I know about the blackouts, but still get absolutely annoyed that I can’t watch the Cubs when they play Yanks, Mets or Pirates 🏴‍☠️. Gotta love how these streaming sites can drive you crazy

Yep - Warren is going nine today. They haven’t worked him at all it seems. I’m watching gamecast, so not the same effect. Are they just trying to wrap this game up quickly or something? It must be painful to watch this offense today.

I always wondered if they did these big shifts in the 80s and 90s, how many more hitters would of had 200 hits seasons, only because alot of those guys would hit the other way often.

Just thinking about something while watching cubs hitters rush to make outs 🙄🙄

Reminder number 9713 that the crew of Boog, JD and T-Mac is the best the Cubs have. Can’t wait to hear how Alex Cohen will ruin the beauty of Shohei Ohtani going 0-4 in a few days.

How about, how many fewer guys would have had 200 hits because of analytics and defensive positioning?

Shota - great outing! Two costly miscues, but 6.2 with only 4 hits given up and 2 runs……I’ll take that all day. Hoping the bats can get him some runs

He's not as good as Boog, but go listen to some other team's broadcasts.  He's light years better than Chip Caray or whoever does the Brewers games and outside of other big markets like LA or SF, Jason Benetti is probably one of the few guys who's better than Alex.

Maybe, but alot of those hitters used the whole field when hitting including bunting for hits.  I just think the mentality of hitters were alot different back then and a little harder to defense against them

They were also seeing the same pitchers more frequently, seeing much less velocity, and less spin.  They wouldn't have been any more successful today with their strategy than they were then and probably less so.
