Ummmmmm Hollowell might be a thing now that he's added that changeup?

He might be.  He has impressed me a lot lately.

Honestly thought his stuff had wicked movement when he first pitched this year but he was all over the place.

Better be tomorrow because Taillon is almost a guaranteed loss

Shota with Amaya should be better than Skenes.😄

Rea, Taillon, and Cabrera have thrown a combined 250 IP with a 5.08 ERA, even with by far the best defense in MLB.  They're killing this team.  We need to trade for a SP.  Even an average SP would be a big upgrade.  Then hope Cabrera pitches better too and/or Brown gets healthy.

I suspect with Brown that they rest him as as long as possible before the playoffs and at best give him several MLB starts in Sept to get him at 100% before the playoffs.  Probably doesn't pay to bring him back before that and risk him not healing then needing to head back to the IL.

The Cubs defense is worth 1.3 runs fewer than the other 5 teams combined with a positive defensive run value.

Something to keep in mind every time the offense has a bad night on the rare occasion that it’s a low scoring win like last night.

I agree with you on Brown. I feel he is that guy they use only when it really matters. If the Cubs are a clear wild card team but can’t realistically catch the Brewers I would guess you see him in multi innings relief the last 2 weeks of the season, every few days to get work in. If the gap is closer and they can catch the Brewers you might see him earlier and in more important spots. Not just getting work in to be ready for the playoffs. They just need him healthy for whatever time key games are played.
