Took a series against the middling Twins, now can the Cubs do the same against a Tigers team that *should* be better than their current record?

Jameson Taillon is probably cooked.  That said two of his first three years here he's given up a stupid number of homeruns in the first half of the year and just randomly stopped in the second half.  Hell, last year the switch flipped while he was on the IL with a leg injury.  Maybe we can make it three of four.

If not I just hope the leash is short.

Wind supposed to be blowing out with Taillon pitching , not great . Flaherty has been better lately and still strikes people out . Not feeling great about this one but who knows ? Maybe they win 12-10

With Jamo we can usually tell right away if he has it or not, so if he gives up 2 in the first, please get someone up in the pen before he gives up 4 in the 2nd.

Jamo pitched great 2nd half of the last season.  We'll see how he goes this year.

On one hand I don't like hearing "knee issue" with how reoccurring it is with Maton. On the other hand it at least gives you a reason to believe "fix the knee, fix the pitcher" for at least the second year of his contract.

Maton back to the IL (same knee issue)

Again?  Crazy.😅

I was hoping he'd pitch well in the 2nd half and the next season.

Kinda sad to see Pomeranz gone, but he was bad.  Hopefully, Civale is better.  He was pretty decent with the Cubs last year.

When did Maton first go on the IL for the knee? The whole situation seems like it's really been bungled

MRI revealed "not good news" according to Craig and he didnt' elaborate. lol

"Not good news" for Maton likely means "really good news" for us.  That deal has been a disaster.

Year one it has been bad. I don’t really consider any $7M a year deal a disaster. Not like we expected some great closer and he sucked. We expected a decent 8th inning guy and paid him a lower end salary for that sort of guy. And he didn’t do the job. A wasted $7M contract for a major market team shouldn’t be a disaster. If you want to see a disaster look at Tucker and his $57M a year contract with the Dodgers. Now that is a disaster. And he has options on year 3 and 4.
