After desperately trying to blow big leads the last 2 games, the pen was given a small lead today and immediately blew it.

just really, really hard to win 2-1 games trying to get 4+ innings of hollowell, thielbar, ferguson and rolison. they really need like 4 new relievers.

And that was an example of why you send the runner. Any misplay and he scores. Nico was a tad slow to throw home and it cost them. A perfect relay and he is out. Orioles executed on their relay home, Cubs didn’t. That is probably the ball game.

At this point, hopefully get out of this inning down by one run and give yourselves a chance in the top of the ninth. However, the bottom half of our lineup coming up and there’s about to turn over for the ninth is not looking good. Oh, and our bullpen is pretty horsefeathers

What does this mean. It is the bottom of the 8th. Cubs don’t score in the 9th and there isn’t innings to “take lumps”

That, and starters that can go 6+ innings 

Barely getting 5 out of these guys,  that takes a toll out of the bullpen and makes a mediocre one look even worst.

It's easy to say this in retrospect but they should have just let Ferguson try to get out of it.  I mean, 2 guys barely grazed with the ball.  Not like he gave up a HR
