Clearly, a strike. The fact that he challenged it just shows he’s not seeing the zone.

They should be alternating days off for Swanson and Nico with Ramirez playing every day right now.

Or Shaw. I agree they need to sit those guys some.

I agree, until they improve.

ben brown is a certified stud muffin and maybe an ace pitcher imo - if he on paper landed as a #8 or 9 or whatever starter, doesn't matter.  He will deliver us to the promised land.

The difference between his approach (and obviously his results) in his AB that tied the game last night and those we seem to see a lot from Nico, Dansby and Bregman was jarring

Cabrera injury announced as a right hand cramp, which I guess is about as good news as you could ask for there

This just isn’t true. They arent even a BAD baseball team with all the injuries. Now you can argue they are average. And it would be hard to disagree with you. But they are average with so many injuries. I don’t like the way the season is going. I am very disappointed. But they are not a bad team now, and without injuries would be pretty good.

It has been a disappointing season in many ways - injures for sure tops the list, but their heart of the lineup can’t move runners, and their record speaks to them having the worst record in MLB since May 9th the last I saw.
Obviously all the fans are frustrated with how this season is progressing. Personally, I think they’re definitely playing like a bad baseball team over the last 5-6 weeks.
again, that doesn’t mean they will stay this way (I certainly hope not), but I’m just speaking to their current status.

A right hand cramp?  Really?

That can't be a thing an MLB pitcher leaves a game for.

It was pretty obvious Cabrera didn't want to leave the game, FWIW

But games before May 9th count too. Again, I am also very frustrated. But a team 3 games over .500 on the year is not a bad team. By definition it is average. Also, I have to think if none of the pitchers gets hurt they have at least 3 more wins. So that would put them 9 games over. Basically a good team. Had you said right now they are a bad team, again, hard to argue that. But as a whole, they are average. And insured have definitely taken a toll.

My dream didn't come true.  After easy 2 outs, I really wanted to see Maton gets a clean inning.

Brad Keller to Phil Maton

horsefeathers Helen Keller would be a potential improvement.

Something that could literally only happen in your dreams currently.

I remember when Lackey used to get pissed and get on his teammates, our fans hated that and he was at least a very good pitcher. Maton’s whole demeanour is horsefeathered. Often it doesn’t even look like he’s only getting on himself, he looks to be angry at the team.

Hes a horrible professional.

Sounds like pain that's about to travel elsewhere

I've never even heard of a hand cramp.

Seiya double bounces over the wall, ensuring the Cubs will need another hit to score in this inning
