Couldn't follow the game but was able to check the score a couple times.  Checked my phone when I got home and it was 3-6 in the 9th and I was thinking this might be the loss that breaks some people.  I then refreshed and saw it was 5-6...oh.  headed over MLB to see Alcantara heading home blinded by his batting helmet....woohoo!

Crazy part was,  the 2 least expected guys you'd expect to come through with big 2 out hits to keep it going did...

Suzuki and Swanson

Well, Seiya had 8 innings off.  So, he should hit, right?😁

I know, I was thinking that were going to have to bench Dansby after the inevitable SO.

Shota had been getting a lot of ground balls until he didn’t

The solo HR will happen, but he doesn't seem to be burying that splitter low out of the zone like he was earlier in the year.  Leaving more over the plate, some were hammered in previous starts.

Oh good, how do you sell hope to a fanbase after their team has sucked for a long time? Edward Cabrera is starting tomorrow and Matt Boyd will be back soon. Two pitchers who have absolutely sucked this year.

So the wait for good news continues,

They also said Shaw is currently healthy but staying in Iowa for now to get some ABs. Pedro is doing OK in his role.  He looks pretty comfortable at the plate.

MLB leaders for most HRs allowed this year:

1. Taillon - 20

2. Imanaga - 17

Could be like Sosa and McGwire in '98

Shota is toast and that makes me sad. He's just too predictable and teams can wait him out too easily. Our rotation is simply not enough. Not even close.

For the record Shota was very good thru 6 innings tonight. If they had a rested pen he probably wouldn’t have even pitched the 7th.

The look of utter befuddlement on his face when a weak pitch gets crushed for the millionth time always gets me, what did you expect boss?

Yes, Shota was very decent tonight.  If PCA didn't lose the ball, it could've been 2 ER in 6 inning.  The numbers were very deceiving.

Holy horsefeathers they came back. The sequencing Gods were on our side for once in the 9th inning. PCA is now tied with the Cubs entire  pitching staff with a 2.6 fWAR.
