Pete running to the dugout doing the earmuffs sign and demanding the high 5 procession even though he was called out because he was so sure it'd get overturned is my favorite thing in a while.  That's like a prime Javy move.

You are. But when all you ever do is bitch about every move Counsell makes you lose credibility. At the very least Counsell isn’t an idiot. And just because he doesn’t do what you think he should doesn’t make him a bad manager. Frankly most of the time I disagree with your opinions. But as you said, we are all entitled to our opinions.

I on the other hand respect your opinions.  I was surprised at the personal shot just because you disagreed with what I said.  If you guys think I'm complaining too much then I'll dial it back.  Otherwise I'm just voicing what 10 million other Cubs fans think

But your not. I doubt 10 million cubs fans think Counsell is a buffoon.

Their rotation has just 2 regular starters in Imanaga and Taillon,  a guy who was supposed to be in the pen in Rea, and depth starter in Brown,  and an emergency depth starter in Wicks. So yes, injuries and lack of options has depleted the rotation.

Then you have pretty much a pen filled with depth and reject types..  lol

Yeah, the other side to my Craig Counsell beef is that they are missing like what, 3 or 4 starters.  Hard for any team to overcome that.

Shouldn’t matter but what was the ump looking at? That ball missed his bat by at least a foot.

I didn't complain about what you said.  I actually thought you're wrong.  I thought you're funny, too.😄  Don't take it personal.  We're winning, and it's all good.

A lot of that was just increased days off too. That and, unpopular opinion maybe, games in may just aren’t must win.

but also, you aren’t really going to convince me that a pitching well (for his talent level) Colin Rea is some significantly worse option than…Ryan Rolison or whoever is doing there now. Maybe a little bit? But if you try to coax one more out of Colin Rea, you save an arm for another day.  If you go to the pen, no matter what the outcome, you’re likely down that arm. That matters.

I'm surprised the Cubs sent Assad down given the current injuries.  Kind of a perfect option in that spot to try and get thru 2 innings and 1 ER or less.

Thanks man.  If I'm being honest, I can be too critical lol.  The highs and lows of baseball.  The whole narrative on this team could be different in 10 days and often I forget that

And yet the Cubs are 25-0 when leading after 7 with that reject pen that idiot GM gave our equally inept manager.

Does it look to anyone else like Bergman and Happ don’t like each other?

interaction in the dugout after Happ homer did not seem positive.

I thought it was the opposite?  Aren’t they good friends?!

They need someone to take Jordan wicks spot and that’s currently their best option. But yeah. A month ago you have some combination of rea, brown, and Assad in the pen to give you multiple innings. Now you’re having to grind it out. There’s going to be a couple games coming up here when the pitching blows it. Because it’s baseball, because everyone is hurt, because the pitching staff wasn’t that good to begin with, because counsell made a wrong move. In my mind, it’s in that order of who/what to blame.

,Bats will get runs more often than not going forward,  its the pitching that concerns me.

I agree, but I wouldn't say that, after Rea and the pen pitch well most of the innings tonight.
