You're becoming an idiot with that post.

One, since the beginning of the previous road at Texas, the Cubs have scored 4 or more runs in just 3 games (11 games total).

The Cubs pitching knows the offense isn't doing well. The Cubs pitching staff knows the offense is leaving a crap ton of base runners on base. The Cubs pitching staff knows the 2-5 hitters can't hit with RISP.

There's a crap ton of pressure when it comes to pitching knowing the offense can't score. Add that with a 2 bogus errors, then there's nothing Cabrera can do.

Seems like cope to me.  He's been mediocre in basically every start as a Cub outside his first 2.  Sucks that he got hurt but that doesn't mean I have to pretend that he's good.  Also all I've been told here is that this is a top 3 offense full of difference makers so surely that can't be used as an excuse.

You know it’s time to get rid of players like Maton when we are supposed to be contending for the division and yet have these players who wouldn’t get on any most other contending rosters.

They could waive him and pray another team picks him up..lol

Release him and just eat what 12 mil or so owed to him

Remaining salary this year, 6 next season,  and assuming the 3 mil buyout for 2028

You’re acting like we emptied the farm system for a guy who everyone else thought was an ace. Owen Caissie sucks out loud, Cabrera has been who he’s always been. But hey, congrats on your stellar call or whatever.

Everything is relative.  We know Caissie stinks now but at the time he was what, a top 50-60 prospect.

They gave up 3 names for Cabrera when they could have given up 5 names for Joe Ryan.  They consistently settle for mediocrity.

Anyways I wasn't trying to be a dick about Cabrera.  I hope he gets healthy soon and starts dominating.  I think we're all just a bit frustrated watching this team right now.

So could every other non-Twins team in baseball, yet it didn't happen. It's almost as if Joe Ryan wasn't actually available at the deadline or this past offseason.

Is that 3 strikeouts on 9 pitches for Happ?

But he's having his best year with the bat...

Oh and that 825 OPS he had last week when I made my comment about him is now down to 782 after going now 0 for 19 with 11 Ks since his 4 hits and HR.

horsefeathers how Counsell. Why are you bringing Palencia in down 5-0 in the 9th?

Because otherwise he never get to pitch?

He was available at the trade deadline last year so I don't buy that for a second.

Hasn’t pitched in a few days, off day tomorrow, still ramping back up (maybe) from IL stint

Why would he “ never get to pitch”? There are another 100+ games this year. All it takes is one pitch to blow out an elbow. Don’t risk it for a 5-0 game.

I really don't have much against the Brewers, and in fact I'd be ok with them winning it all if the Cubs can't, but in 5 months they're probably going to get rolled by the Dodgers again and many of their fans are going to bitch for a salary cap for the next 5 months because of it and I'm going to want to strangle them all.

the offseason moves are all blowing up

I don't know what organizations are supposed to do when two-thirds of the hitters they give big contracts to just immediately stop being good at hitting after they sign them, and the other one is Dansby Swanson, who was never actually very good at hitting and is getting worse

These guys need to pitch with some regularity. He's gone every second or third day since coming back, pitched on Sunday so if he didn't go today, at the earliest he would go on Friday.
