Me too. That was the ridiculous point of the post. I get the idea of taking him out. I was wondering it too. But I also understand it is a 50/50 call on that decision. It isn’t as cut and dry as he should have taken him out. All things considered I am sure he was hoping to get 5 out of him.  Save the pen a bit for the next series.

Only Imanaga consistently does that. It shouldn’t be this difficult for our starters to go past 5 innings.

That a bit of the problem Counsell has, he cant keep going to the pen in the 5th inning every game, he has to push these starters to try and get those extra outs in the 5th and sometimes in the 6th, otherwise theres going to be a revolving door of relievers between Iowa and Chicago.

nico has been complete dogshit the entire month

He actually got under that.  That’s not easy on a ball breaking way down below the zone

Sox announcers blabbing about the Sox possible HR's but for the wind. Well, were it not for the wind Busch has, for certain 2, if not 3 today.

Busch would have 4-5 HR this series if it wasn't for the wind lol.  I can remember 2 that were caught right in front of the wall in RF and that one last inning

Exactly. Which is why he keeps guys in if they are only at 75 pitches. He has to pick his spots on the pen for fear of overuse.

How about, they are good, but not great. All teams have issues. This is a solid team but that doesn’t mean they can’t struggle. Again, it’s baseball. Good teams still lose 40% of the time.
