Pitching not gonna hold up at this rate. Hopefully that’s the end of Maton

I mean they signed him to a 3 year deal . He needs to be pitching in low leverage for a while . It’s painful to watch him

How about, they are good, but not great. All teams have issues. This is a solid team but that doesn’t mean they can’t struggle. Again, it’s baseball. Good teams still lose 40% of the time.

They have good players, problem is they  struggle all too often and mostly at the same time.

Scoring 4 is great,  but as we see in alot of games and especially in games that they lose by a couple runs, they have opportunity after opportunity to put up more runs and cant. That the frustrating part

Idk.  Maybe he's just a **** manager.  He leaves Milwaukee and they instantly become a juggernaut 🤷‍♂️

I said the exact same thing last year. He’s done some good things this season. I’m definitely a critic of his, but he’s been managing pretty well this year so far in my opinion.
He made some rough calls today, but he can’t be faulted for them stranding all those runners in scoring position. To your point, it’s hard to argue that maybe the Cubs chose the wrong manager from Milwaukee. Pat Murphy becomes Manager of the year soon as Counsell departs. 🤷‍♂️

I think that's the weird. They signed him like around Thanksgiving, giving him a 2-3 year deal. For a guy that throws 90 MPH, it's tough because hitters can sit on either fastball or slider. And if that sit on the slider, they still have enough time to react to Phil's fastball.

I truly believe it was an odd signing.
