Javy and PCA are around 3rd before that hit from Kelly even lands. It was a bad read, based on the trajectory. Not even PCA is catching that.

Im probably screwing up these stats but savant has it he single as an .840 xBA. Don’t think catch probability comes out until tomorrow?

Happ is a very good player and doesn't have a history of baserunning mistakes.  I'm going to go ahead and say that he was probably correct in hesitating so he wasn't at risk of getting doubled off, especially when the guys who are paid to watch and talk about the game every day are in agreement he was in a tough spot to make that read based on where he was and the trajectory of the ball.

Great win, needed this one badly with the Dodgers and Padres coming up and Milwaukee losing.

I just hope Thielbar is semi ok. These pitching injuries are disgusting, not even the amount of injuries, but the fact it's been basically all your important arms. Even your top pitching prospect...its Sickening.

it's not like it was a routine play anyway

No it wasnt, he just couldn't squeeze it, it hit the glove but came right out.

I'll be surprised if the pick is in before 11 PM CST.

Well, guess I'll watch all of Sabres-Bruins and the start of Avalanche-Kings before the Bears pick.

I've never seen anyone as good as Javy at getting reads on balls.

Ironically he got doubled off in today's game on a ball he shouldn't have been running on.

That game was annoying, I know it's the Brewers and all.  But, come on Perkins, Matos, Ortiz and Hamilton doing damage vs. Skubal?  Give me a horsefeathers break, bad is bad, it's going to catch Brewers.  Through in Sanchez as well, he's cooked.

Javy is just one of the best baseball IQ guys ever

He can do some of the smartest and dumbest things I have ever seen on a baseball field

Watch the end of Giants-Dodgers, they announced the Cubs' starters over the weekend and it was...not inspiring.  Well, at least, Friday' and Saturday' starters.

They need someone to close for a couple more weeks until Palencia returns,  not sure who that guy can be on this roster or in Iowa.

Not sure if this group can handle Closer by committee for 3 weeks

Pitching matchup actually favors the Cubs numbers wise 🤷

We'll have to win the game 2, because Sasaki pitches, and he sucks.  Then, if we can get another win, that would be great.

Luckily we are missing the Dodgers' best guys

Wrobleski has been looking like one of their best guys, though.

You either die a hero or live to become the villain.  Inescapable.

You mean, like Koufax and Drysdale? 'Cause the rest of the guys aren't too shabby.

I don't buy it, he has 9 strikeouts in 24 innings.

Hopefully, you're right.
