It horsefeathers sucks, I can't sugarcoat it. He will be way behind in learning and playing within the system and probably take a couple weeks to get the conditioning. Might get half of an effective season from him. What a bummer.

Yeah I agree, even though he participated on OTAs and the first week or so of camp this will set him back a bit.  Even if Week 2 is an optimistic return date, its very possible the Bears put him on IR to open up an extra roster spot to start the year, not wanting to rely on the most optimistic time table.  And then yeah even playing he's probably not going to be playing 100% of the snaps and will be behind on getting up to speed and building chemistry with the team.  It's not the worst case scenario though, just have to hope the offense can play well out of the gate and bank a couple wins.

Better that it'll be the second half than the first half.

Aren't groin injuries particularly troublesome?  In all my years as fan of Chicago sports teams I don't remember a player returning 100% from such an injury during the season.  It's almost always been an effectively season ending injury.

They’re easy to re-aggregate. I haven’t heard any updates but the drop off from Burden to whoever wins the WR3 tryout is massive.

Guess it might a hamstring which is almost as troublesome, hoping for the best.  I really believe injury luck is the biggest factor for Super Bowl winning teams, every season the winning team has amazing injury luck.

Yeah them. Although none of their injured players were front line talents besides maybe Nick Collins.

Mark Tauscher (4), Ryan Grant (1), Jermichael Finley (5), Nick Barnett (4), and Brad Jones (6) would disagree with your assessment. The number of games started before injury are in parenthesis.

I don't know what the definition of "front end talent" is exactly, but all of them were starters. Finley was definitely a rising star in the making IMO.

Those are annoying Injuries no doubt. If you swapped any of the above with Clay Mathews, Charles Woodson, Rodgers, or any of the pro bowl/all prowls on that 2010 team, that would be the terrible injury luck that gflore was talking about that Super Bowl winning teams don’t have.

Just read it’s a groin injury, given what we’ve seen in the past - Jaylon - it basically a season ending injury.  Sure, Jaylon came back but, he could barely move, damn it sucks.  Don’t believe it’s going to slow the Bears’ offense down in a significant manner.  One of Raymond, Thomas, Walker or a combination will step up in a big way.
